That's the way to attract Big Sam. Give him a stake in the club, on the cheap, so there's a chance of big money and kudos if we "do a Bolton". The potential's certainly there - think of all the frustrated fans in the West Riding looking for a winning (Premiership) team to support. Might just be the sort of innovative proposition which would appeal to both Dean and Sam, and requires commitment on both sides (I don't mean director of football - never thought much of that non-role - I mean team manager with significant shares in the football club)

People with shares want a return on their investment though, very few football clubs make profits to return to shareholders as dividends.
The only way to sell it would be that he can expect growth in the value of his shares in the hope that, if Town were to reach the premiership, someone would want to buy the club to take it further.
The other problem is that DH could only transfer 19% of his shares before he risks losing control of the club.

I can never decide who I hate the most...
Steve Bruce - for being the clueless fat-head who signed George Donis, Thailand's captain (Zico?) and Kwami Hodouto. Ian Ayre - for his spine-curling comments when we drew Liverpool in the FA Cup. Barry Rubery - for employing the two chumps I've mentioned above.
