What about either of these guys ,Dalton is current academy coach with succesful Middlesboro academy ,Chris beech is with Bury`s academy and he denitely applied after Jacko ,not sure about the ex-player bit but certainly forward thinking guys ,
Appointing either of these two would be similar to giving Adkins the job ,two guys who would defnitely think about the way we played in a scientific manner and not just all bluster and threats as Stan played it Funnily enough on suggesting either of these two to Oggy on radio Leeds he would not comment Maybe i was wide of the mark

Worth a shout man. Imo I don't think it would be either of those two but they seem to be doing well in their current positions. All interesting stuff this.

Could do with Paul Dalton being ten years younger and still playing for us. One of the better players we've had in the last decade

When Dalton was on form he was quality. Crewe away springs to mind and THAT half way line goal against Stoke plus many more. I really liked Dalton and was main part of The Great Escape.

His name popped into my head the other day when thinking about the manager and I've only just managed to stop singing "Oh Barry Horne, Barry, Barry, Barry Horne!" and now you've started me off again

Two other quality Dalton games were WBA away where he scored two absolute belters Also remember being in the Midland Road Stand (is that it's name replaced the Bus Shelter at Valley Parade) as Dalton danced his way through the heart of the Bradford defence For a spell in the Great Escape Dalton was simply unstoppable!
