Why? Butler is similarly adept in his inability to pass the ball but at least he can head the ball!!!!

Yes, but i have always thought David Mirfin looked prettier in a blue and white shirt, apposed to Butler - it really doesn't suit him at all

Forget his distribution and the like Mirfin has the terrible habit of defending with his back to the entire game - no thanks.

Mirfin is the most overrated player to come out of the academy. If he didn't have his pace he'd be playing at the same level as me.

Yes, John Terry frequents Down At The Mac. I thought Mirfin and Clarke were often much of a muchness ... but Clarke settled alongside Page ... which gave him the edge.

Clarke is miles better than Mirf and always was. How Mirf won Player of the season instead of GTF after a run of a couple of months decent form still baffles me. He was horrific in that season up to that point... As a defender he was so so poor. He'd watch the ball drift over his head so many times it was untrue - his only get out clause was his natural pace and strength. His concentration, technical ability, deplorable aerial ability and braindead reading of the game in front of him mark him down as a player to drop into None League within the next 3-4 years for me. I didn't rate him by the way

I miss Mirfin letting the ball bounce over his head and inevitably letting the striker past him!
