in my opinion the biggest coup of the last month has been the signing of blackie hopefully he can turn the team around into a team of winners.

As I stated before this could give us the edge over teams. We need to be physically in shape and mentally strong. Hopefully this chap will give us that - his credentials are impressive!
Have way more faith in this set-up than the old skool approach of Ternant et al. Modern football needs modern methods.

Indeed - as a coaching pedigree, we are looking at a world class appointment there, I've heard lots about blackie in "coaching fokelore" make no mistake ladies and gents, he could well make a difference here. Given his experience he will earn respect and have quite an influence I'd imagine.. A reet coup if you ask me.. Combine that with Faz's experiance, it seems Clark is the front man for all of this. I am happy. I think.. ;D

Yes fully agree - as I say on another thread the fitness of the players has been a concern for a few years now IMO. Employing this man on a full-time basis as a trainer/motivator (why should a footballer playing in our blue & white need a motivator!?) is most definately a move in the right direction. I have to say though on behalf of the present (temporary) manager that the players have looked a degree sharper since he took over. But the level of fitness at pro-level is no doubt connected to mental aspects (tired body = tired mind etc.) so I'm especially pleased to see this part of the change to our management team. Well done Mr. Hoyle.

Why do players need a motivator Terracesider!!??
I think you only have to look at the result against L**ds versus displays against lesser teams for your answer!!!
'Life coaches' /Psychologists, whatever you want to call them are big business nowadays. We have guys in our Business who fly to the States two or three times year and pay big money to see these kind of people!!
To have one on tap will be excellent in my opinion and different players will take different things out of this approach but a bit of positive thinking never did anyone any harm!!!!
Add that to the fitness/conditioning training and this should certainly give us the edge in this league!!!

His cv suggests this is an impressive acquisition for a League 1 team.
This could be really good or it could be as important as Hoddle bringing in his psychiatrist mate on the England team.
I'm leaving my opinion open but I would imagine he can only be a positive man to bring in.

He has worked at some good clubs (and also in the Zurich Premier!) I'd expect him to be a good addition seeing as though he has been hired at decent clubs repeatedly. I welcome him, Mr. Fazackerley and of course Lee Clark to our club and wish them well.

When it says he's been "brought in" I wonder what that actually means?, looking at the guys website he still has ties with Newcastle, Sunderland and Fulham amongst others so is he gonna be with us full time? once a week? once a month? just in an advisory capacity?

If the team start to look a lot fitter it's probably only a matter of time before uncle Ken starts tapping him up to sort the Giants out, he seems to have as much experience in rugby (OK mainly Union) as footie! Even if it is on a part time basis I can't see anything wrong with him being involved. Get him started on Parker's supposed 'personal problems'!
