How many were sold to people living abroad with no intention of coming unless they were over here on visits? Just to put money into the club like!!

I sit in Direct Golf Lower and the same seats have been empty at every game. Yet this part of the ground sold out to season ticket holders.
You would have thought they would of turned up for at least one game.
Just can't see the point myself - can't see that we have 4000 overseas Terrier Season Ticket Holders. Haven't seen Patrick Stewart but Reece Dinsdale is a regular - sits near me.

I know a couple of people who had them bought as well meaning presents - the purchasers thinking that because they "supported" Manure & Arse (T.V.) they were actually football fans. ;)I think they have a grand total of four games between them! One of them actually left after 80mins last Satdy. "because it was so frigging cold" ;D UTT

There's three tickets in a row that me and a couple of mates bought, that often aren't used. None of us live in Huddersfield, and very few people who we still know in the town want to go; I give the ticket to my brother when he fancies the trip over from Manchester, but otherwise ... I don't see why this is such a bugbear for people - we paid our money to support the club, so what if the seats aren't full every week?!

I'm one of the 4000 and have only been once so far due to living away, finishing uni course and overtime at work. Also I've just been laid off so I can't justify the expense of travelling down. Although if I loose my house and have to move back to my parents I will be going more often.

How many were sold to people living abroad with no intention of coming unless they were over here on visits? Just to put money into the club like!! One here. but i've just booked to come home from end of jan til mid feb, so i will get 3 home games in then, so seat will be occupied for the l**ds game. Suspect the crowds over xmas will be close to 16,000.

There are countless reasons why all 16000 season ticket holders aren't always present! I live 220 miles away. Expense isn't a problem, but it's not really fair on my family to be away all day for every home game. I'll be at the Hereford match, which will be my fifth home game this season, which ain't too bad! See plenty of the away games though.

I dont understand why we dont set up some system where you can inform the staff if you aren't going to make it? Or if you're far away, when you are going to. That way none ticket holders can always get in the John smiths x

There are lots of fans who live miles away who can only average 10 games a season but it was worthwhile paying £100 for 10 games.
Normally you would pay on the day for this amount of games.
I know a fan from Harrogate who is working in the Middle East so he will only get to 5 or 6 games but he wants to sit with his dad when he is home and even then its no dearer than paying on the day.
There are many good reasons for people missing but better football and results will increase attendances by a 1000 or so.

Living in Coventry its just not possible to attend every game, leaving home at 10 and getting home at 8 at night every other week would put a strain on any marriage ( she always wants to come for the piss up ) Buying a season ticket for my son and myself has greatly reduced the cost of the match day, and as a result we have been to more games at home this season ,6 , than we would have normally been able to. This was my reason for buying a season ticket and i make no apologies for it, i'll bet the majority of people who moan about season ticket holders non attendance live within easy commuting distance of Huddersfield.
