We're in a great position now, we don't really expect too much from this season after the mess Ternent made. If we hit the ground running under Clark then maybe we could be up there come May, but if not lets keep behind him and give him time.
Lets give him the time to assess the squad, work out which players can cut it and see where we need to improve. Lets not have any booing for the rest of the season, even if results aren't going for us.
It should be a pressure free few months for Clark and co, then next season we can hopefully really push on.

Totally agree, and i'm quite optamistic that Clark will hit the ground running and get us into the mix soon, but no doubt there be the usual moaners coming out of the wood work at the pharm, there's no pleasing some. Onwards and upwards, come on town!!!

Yep, I'd be quite happy for him to only make minimal signings in Jan (striker No1 priority), see if we really look like contenders and take it from there. If another total overhaul is needed wait until the summer when there are more players available on the market.

I agree. Would be interesting though if he threw caution to the wind and went all-out to win every game.

Even if we don't get into playoffs hopefully we can at least see some improvement but I'm certainly not going to boo anybody and we should all give Clark and Co a standing ovation when they are introduced to help him and the team prosper.

I know what you're saying fella, but I disagree - they certainly should not have a 'hassle free' few months. We are in a great position to push up the table......onwards and upwards I say

murphy has proved all we need is a striker.

Hopefully, Town supporters will be more patient with Clark than they were with Ternent and Ritchie. They must realise that Clark is new to the management game and help him out by getting behind the team as much as possible. Town supporters are too quick to react to mistakes etc at present - continuing like that won't help Clark.

murphy has proved all we need is a striker. So you don't think that we could improve any other positions

ritchie got plenty of time to get things right - and never really suffered from abuse from the fans - right up until oldham away just before he was sacked.
ternent made such a mess of things - he would have been dismissed for gross incompetance were he in any other job. how he spent the money he did, and only contrived to make a poor team even worse, really does baffle me!
clark will get the rest of the season free (as has been mentioned) unless he takes us into relegation trouble.....
he will then make his signings, offload others - and be judged on the first 15 games or so of next season.
when, if were are still 14th in the league, having doubled the wage bill and spent 500k - questions will start being asked!
all fair enough as well that, i reckon?

I am thinking that with the staff he has got, he is given this season off. However, aiming for the play offs could be a good bet imo. The squad isnt that bad. Given a striker, I think we're as good as anyone else in there. Then come next season where ever we are; Skarz, Clarke, Denton, T Clarke et al will all be fit as a fiddle, build up in the right places. The only way is up =] =]
Unless our "dream team" is poached ala Poyet and W**e

less than half way into the season, less than 10 off the play offs - it's ALL to play for still..........

Agree 110% We could still go up though it may not take him long to settle in and get to kow the players and stuff

new to management...so what, pressure will be on him to prove himself,he will try and win every game and rightly so,give him this season off,no way the play offs are in easy reach, hopefully a striker will be added in january, murphy has done a good job and he has good guys behind him,6 months is too long to give him time to settle although as long as we arnt in relgation trouble he will get the backing of the fans,i think this team with maybe 3 added are play boff candidates at the very least.

I think he'll do alreet. Given time to asess the squad etc for the players he wants and where he wants to play/put the current ones, he'll do a decent job. Got a good feeling bout LC...fingers crossed.

There's oftern teams in relegation positions in Dec that go onto get automatic or go up through the playoffs. All to play for imo.

I wasn't for one minute saying we couldn't go up this season, or that he should not try to achieve something this year. All I'm saying is we shouldn't get on his back this season at least, it can take time, and at least he'll have a good idea of the squad in time for next season if it doesn't work out straight away.
