This appeared in yesterday's Huddersfield Daily Examiner ............
'Since today's appointment of Lee Clarke as the new manager of Huddersfield Town, the town has been gripped by Geordie fever.
The manager of the town centre Woolworths store says that "the demand for false beer bellies & man boobs is unprecedented and that this sales surge alone is so big it may be the 11th hour saviour that the 30,000 embittered staff of Woollies have been waiting for ! Although the downside is that sales of all hair products have nose dived cos everyone now seems to have shaven their heads !"
Local publicans are also reporting a downturn in the sale of fancy, continental, designer lagers while at the same time sales of that shi*ty, cloudy Newky Brown stuff has gone thro' the roof !
Furthermore, some geeky, techno Town fans have been reported snapping up Nintendo Wii's & i Phones and then converting them into Wi'i phones ......... !' Although rumours that the club are considering replacing some of their famous blue & white stripes on the shirt with black ones have been described as 'ucking bollocks' by a spokesman for the die hard '1923' supporters group !
Yes, the town has certainly gone into a Geordie frenzy !

Maybe he could change his name via deed poll to 'Clarke', as 50% of people think that's the spelling?.............. ;D

Yes, but then the 50% who know that it is Clark would get it wrong.
I think that people should try to be bit more careful with their spelling, like using the word lose when we don't win rather than loose, which does my head in. Doh!
Double doh!

Sent using the latest Wi'i phone® from Yorkshire I dunno, you try and provide a light hearted post to relieve the doom & gloom that's all around and all you get is replies correcting minor spelling mistakes and about people losing their jobs ! Lighten up everyone ............. !

My post was lighthearted. That's the problem with reading things, rather than picking up the nuances when someone says the same thing to your face. It's also the problem with 'Quick Reply' that doesn't let you add emoticons.

What doom and gloom? We have a new manager, and we're only 9 points off the playoffs.
