Overall the performance was excellent today. I think Lee Clark would have been delighted with what he saw. There were long spells, particularly in the first half, where Town passed the ball around beautifully. The lack of a natural goalscorer is a glaring weakness though and I'm sure Clark will have recognised that. Standouts for me were Goodwin and Smithies. Collins was fairly quiet but he was still OK. The goal was very similar to the Town goal at Brighton. Smithies pulled off at least three great saves in the second half. The penalty was very weak though and Smithies got down to make an easy save.
At the end of the match the Town players stood back to allow Smithies to take the applause from the Town fans, who gave good support throughout.
Went to the HTSA meeting with Graham Mitchell beforehand at the team hotel. A fairly low-key meeting. Graham said Gerry Murphy had been unwell for a couple of weeks and had not travelled after advise from the doctor. Get well soon Gerry, you'd have been proud of the lads today.
It was wet and very, very cold!

glad the players showed what they can do today in front of Clark, looking forward to the game next Saturday. Hopefully Clark can attract a decent striker in January. Get well soon Gerry!

Boothy is not the solution. It would be good to have him available, but he hasn't been a heavy goalscorer throughout his career, except for a year or two when he was a kid.

Boothy's back in January! Hopefully fitter than for the past couple of years and if so.............................. With Blackie conditioning him he has another five or six seasons left in him . A fit Booth guarentees you goals from both him and those around him and crucially gives us a completly different option up front. He has scored a hell of a lot of goals for a supposedly goal shy striker. I hope he comes back ready to fire on all cylinders. Id like another striker in Jan too though.

Boothy will not be half as useful in a passing team. His chronic lack of mobility coupled with the glaring chances he misses will not help us progress.
Time for a new king.

;D top performance today without a striker, they even brought 2 more on. smithies mom for me, excellent. his catching and handling is superb, he looks very confident. we have a real gem. he should keep his place now on his form of 6 pts out of 6pts. Clark will get a class striker in january, im proud to be a town fan today... great journey back and saw some yids in leicester services going south;;;; wankers...
