I've spoken to the oracles and I bet Lee Clark's father and uncles will be willing him next week to place special emphasis on winning heavily against Hereford. For it's not only a great opportunity to get Lee's managerial career off to a perfect start next week, there's the added incentive of going a little way to repairing a famous defeat of his Magpie heroes and allowing the Gods of the River Tyne to wash away their tears. Hereford 2 v Newcastle 1 in the FA cup 36 years ago - Although barely conceived at the time, it must have hurt the bairn, so come on Lee fire up the lads from Huddersfield Town and go about humiliating Hereford as they did the Magpies all those years ago.

Just seems strange that Lee's first game is against Hereford, a team that humbled his heroes all those years ago. It's another sign ;D

A few weeks ago, it was looking like they were relegation candidates. It's still possible we could be playing them next season.

I don't know about that. I reckon there'll be quite a few in Newcastle who'll be willing him good luck and especially against Hereford. How would you feel if Ronnie Radford's goal had been against Huddersfield that day and was show for months after on Match of the Day.

You mean like the fat pie man from Accrington, wouldn`t be too bothered tbh.

Lol - Just googled it - completely forgotten that Accrington's manager had promised a pie to the chappie scoring the winning goal.

I thought this was going to be about erasing the memories of McDonald and Wadsworth! The last two managers with major Newcastle connections...
