I think that we can forget this season now. With our negative goal-difference that effectively means nine points - three wins, and hoping that the top six slip badly. Don't think it will happen. Roll on August!

Until it's mathematically impossible I dont think ya can write it off completely. Although i'm tempted to say ya can.

I'm being REALISTIC. Eight points is a hell of a lot of distance to make up, and then hope that the more consistent sides at the top slip. We're talking Peterborough, Scunthorpe et alia here - they are the ones at the bottom end of the play-offs and they don't slip very often. No-one likes to think it's over, but losing 0-3 at a team 19th suggests that the chances of making up those 8 points are not very likely!

We have made up 6 points on the play offs in the last 8 games so to say its hard to do is nonsence to be honest, theres nearly half a season to go yet.

No way is this season over. Teams WILL drop points, it's just a case of us getting our act together in enough time to take advantage of this.

I think the key to our promotion chances will be a striker and a left winger/left back

8 points isnt that much to make up, especially in this league where most teams can beat each other on thier day. I cant see Scunthorpe, MK Dons, Stockport etc keeping up the pace they have been holding for so long. The only team who look very good in this league are Leicester, the others will lose their faire share of games . The next two home games are going to show whether we are up to the playoff standard or not! But I still want to see us with a decent finnisher up front though! Only then can we seriously think about promotion.

There's no way on earth I'm prepared to write this season off at this stage and yes I am being realistic.
We still have return fixtures to play against all the teams at the top and the opportunity to take points from them. Winter hasn't even set in yet, when the larger squads will be needed.
We haven't even reached the half way stage of the season (or the New Year) - thinking about August is a nonsense.
I'm sure our friends down the M62 are not thinking of August and they have ONE more point than us.

A lot of 'them' are thinking they can win the play-offs. I doubt it. Although be good to see 'em cry on the telly...again. 2 games in and folk are questioning the coaching staff already. 1 win and 1 loss. No way you can come to such a decision. Roll on Scunny.
