Nobody has commented on the KP rumours ,Even Oggy confirmed the rumour ,does anybody think it has legs ,the guy is a goal scoring machine ,Or is he exactly the kind of player we dont need ?? Small and too similar to the rest of the forward line
I think its a Tall ,Mobile forward we need for Jeavons,Cadds and parker to play off of
Onward and upward .looking forward to tomorrow ,at least scunthorpe wont have Cleveland taylor to annoy us as he did yesterday

I think this is extremely unlikely:
1) I am sure he will be on a huge salary at Birmingham even by Championship standards.
2) He wasn't too keen on dropping to L1 when McAllister was after him.
3) He's been based in the Midlands for quite some time and has not been keen to uproot his family. He even turned down a return to Sunderland during the last couple of years.
4) He's played fairly regularly for Birmingham, although a number of appearances have been from the bench.
I suspect that these rumours have come from Clark once having played with Phillips at Sunderland - somebody has put 2 & 2 together, a bit like with the Andy Carroll rumours (who was a sub for the Newcastle 1st team yesterday).

Can't see it to be honest but Phillips is still a very good striker. Just the kind of quality finisher we need.

Scunthorpe won't have Cleveland Taylor but if they've a right winger who can run he'll rip williams to bits. It seems to happen week in week out now and everyone is straight on here after most games saying the opposition have one of the best winger in the league. I think it's more we have one of the worst full backs in the league.

i think regardless of whether hes too similar to most of our forward line,he'll score an absolute bucketload of goals for us

First I've heard of this rumour but one crucial difference he has with the rest of our strikers is that he knows where the onion bag is.

VP a caller into radio leeds asked whether or not KP was coming in as player coach ,Oggy confirmed he had heard the rumour but would be surprised if he came in as a coach but would not be surprised if he came as a player ,even though the salary would be high ,bearing in mind monies spent on the coaching team
Also think back to the adam pearson original bid ,Ken Davy stated that whilst he was involved with town he would input money on a 60/40 basis if Adam would accept a 40% shareholding and chairmanship ,has he made the same commitment with Deano ??If Deano has put say 2 Million in ,then maybe Davy has put 3 million in !
This may explain the investment ,Sounds Kooky but Deano cannot have the money that is being invested at the moment surely

I would guess that there will be funds available in Jan as I can't see us getting such a quaity management team in on the previso of their being no money available. Thank god for Dean Hoyle thats all I can say.

Kevin Phillips would be a perfect partner for the legend that is Boothy. Immense in the air, knocks down to a small, fast, clinical goal scorer, 3 points in the bag ;D

If this rumour is true, it would be a fantastic signing. He's still a top striker despite his age, and is scoring freely in the championship.

That rumour will stay a rumour. He's in the starting 11 most weeks at Birmingham and if not he's on the bench and brought on in the 2nd half. Why would he drop down to League 1 when he can get a starting place at a team that is 2nd in the Championship?

Can't see it happening tbh, he got a 2 year contract from birmingham in the summer for a reason. WBA could only offer him one year. Hence why he's going to want to stay out either the remainder of his contract to collect the pennies and play a bit-part role in a team which should be in the premier league this time next season and his last chance at the big time like windass at the moment. He's still on 15,000/20,000 a week apparently too.

Good player, but nasty little tick with a personality defect. His valedictory remarks from Saints will ensure he will never be welcomed at St Mary's again. Recommend we do not touch!!!

No chance.
Would bag a hatful at this level without any doubt- but not the type of striker we should be after in any case.

TBH if we want a top quality striker we are going to have to pay for one. Either a big transfer fee for town ie Lambert or big wages for someone like Kuqi or Phillips

He wants to play in the Championship though. At his age he won't risk signing for us.

Without starting up the debate again. Please no, I'd hate to have a scumbag like him wearing the three stars. Why? Well why do you think? I don't want to start the debate up again. We both know exactly how it's going to go and neither of us are going to change our minds.
