The poor guy is looking desperate. Almost presented with an open goal yesterday but their keeper blocked the cross before it reached him, and he reacted like he'd just missed a penalty. I'm not his biggest fan, but Booth aside, he's our only forward who has ever been a consistent goalscorer. With Parker playing okay, but not hitting the net, surely Jevons is worth a run in the side?

Fans rave about parker but apart from his goal v Crewr he has been less than ordinary! Cads offers much more up front IMO but i would like ot see jevo given a go as he holds the ball up well for the midfield to latch onto e.g robets goal!

Jevons did have a shot yesterday, which is more than hes done in any other game this season.
Parkers a good player. Didn't happen for him yesterday (same as everyone else) but he brings plenty of tenacity skill and speed to our attack normally. Like Roberts and Cadamarteri he isn't a striker though and does all his best work out wide. But he isn't going to do anything if we just lump high balls up to him like we did at carlisle After Roberts,he's Ternents best signing IMO. The others are all average at best.

Come on captain, on jevons....2nd goal v hereford, two one twos with roberts for the goal. Looked simple didn't it, but no coincidence it was roberts and jevons who made it look simple with 4/5 around them! He is a clever link up player who can do a very decent job at this level and offers something different to parker, cadamarteri and booth - but like parker, he will do very little with balls lumped to him, but unlike parker, he can do something when the team needs someone to do the basics. Eg) Hereford last week, taking control of the ball and setting the tempo. As for parker - he's a 9 out of ten or 4 out of ten player. When he's good he's very good, when he's not on form, he's awful. More direct than cadamerteri for me, but like you say, more of a channel player than an out and out striker. But I wouldn't trust him with a pound coin! Think he'll always have the ''potential'' to be very good, but infuriating all the same. He has the potential to be one of stan's best signings, but as things stand, he's been disappointing - promising when given a start under gerry but not seeing a level of consistency we need. But he needs a big man upfront with him to be more effective consistently (and he hasn't had that chance yet) or else he gets frustrated and over boils - either discipline wise eg) sending off, or starts being petulant eg) diving around...or he loses his focus all together and makes the wrong decisions. Without a big man, he will get more frustrated. Yet to see the best of either.

According to BBC website, both Jevons and Cadamarteri could start against Scunny. Strike partnership in a 4-4-2 maybe?

I'd also say hopefully except who's right wing?
Collins? But that means craney in a midfield two and he's not got the legs for that - albeit aided by goodwin protecting him.
Kamara? Holdsworth with tom clarke/berrett right back?
Back to the old problem of the complete lack of balance in the squad created by stan.

We need wide midfielders, I'm sure Clark can see that and will look to rectify it!

If we get wide midfielders, we will find we also need one or two central midfield players also, because collins, craney cant play in a two and worthy/goodwin are too inconsistent! Its no good criticising jevons for yesterday - the quality of service up to him was really poor and with parker totally anonymous he was on a hiding to nothing. Systems arent the problem as clark has already said - if the players dont perform and arent good enough on a consistent basis, then we are snookered and yesterday too many were average at best and some were awful! The key now is to try and get back on a good run asap, but i fear we are playing sides in the next few weeks who will be too strong for us to emulate the recent good spell of results.

I've been on this board and really laced into Jevons, but yesterday his attitude looked totally different, he went into a challenge on a Carlisle player on the touchline near us and almost kicked him up in the air. I'm all up for giving someone a chance and hopefully I can be proved wrong

Jevons would be a good player in a good side playing off a main striker he is not one to lead the line or play on the shoulder of the last defender.
I haven't seen anything from Parker to suggest he is significently better than jevons and can't understand how so many town fans rave about him. What has he done in a town shirt?
I hope if Jevo is given a chance tomorrow the crowd don't get on his back before he kicks the ball.
