Humiliate the players as they have humiliated the fans! Credit to Brown

Have a look at how many players the idiot was playing out of position.
He was doing it to try and cover up the fact he had got his tactics wrong. Bit childish really...

Thought exactly the same when I watched MOTD - seems to me that Phil Brown is starting to believe his own hype. I mean what was it all about?? Was it so the Hull fans could see that he was actually doing something about the pasting they were getting - and I thought the mantra at footy clubs is ''what happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room''?? Jose Mourinho the 2nd he isn't.

I think it was for the cameras. Brown has done a great job at Hull but I think the press attention has got to his head. I saw him interviewed at his desk the other day and he had a life sized picture of himself standing behind him while he sat in front of the cameras. Oh dear...

Apparently it was because he'd lost the dressing room.

4-0 down at half time after an abject display to a team in the bottom three!!!
I can see why he did it and why not.
Good on him if nothing else the players know what passes as substandard from here on in.

Chester when we were 4-0 up at Half-time. Comedy gold. It was Cardiff and the manager was Terr Yorath. He let them get to the dressing room door and then told them it was for footballers and they were to f**k off back outside. I would certainly not have sat there like a naughty schoolboy like the Hull players did with their heads down. Stupidity by Brown and he could well have lost them totally now, I'd have taken my boots off and chucked them at him and am surprised none of them did.

Didnt look good at all what he did, his team have been one of the teams of season in prem to beat the top teams they have done, that was an ego trip for Brown.... lost respect for him now.

He has doen a wonderful job and his team have started the season superbly.
So doing what he did seems a bit harsh to you or I - but...many teams start the season well aftere promotion and then fade away.
Anyone from hull down copuld get relegated this season - its middlesbrough who ahven't won a few and have slipped from 8th to 16th. If hull continue in their recent vein of form, they could easily see themselves drop into that group. They've lost their last two games 4-1 and 5-1 and could have been 8-0 down at half time v man city. Maybe he thought they'd lost their focus and as he says the metality wasn't there. So from his point of view, I can understand why he did it.

Exactly the sort of thing that hacks off players as Shearer alluded to later on MOTD. Brown's skating on thin ice with the respect of his own players now. Also don't forgrt it's all on TV these days, lip readers on SkySports would have had a field day. Bad idea, keep it in the dressing room. Clark wouldn't have done it at Carlisle that's for sure.

i remember warnock doing it to a team a while ago in the championship. after that i think they went on to win a few games. It can either give players a good kick up the back side or turn the dressing room against him and ultimately end him getting the sack

of course he should have kept them out, they have just taken a battering in the first half why should they go in the dressing room and have all there energy drinks in the warmth. As it happened they put a better performance in the second half. As for Phil Brown starting to belive his own hype, let him he's taken them up and holding there own in the premiere league. I for one would let Lee belive his own hype WHEN he gets us to the promised land. Keep it in the dressing room.... rubbish. If there gonna have a ding dong at half time let the fans see it, it shows passion and commitment let lip readers read it and i hope they got the biggest fucking they have ever had. Maybe the players are beliveing ther own hype!

I thought this ''what happens in the dressing room stays in the dressing room'' was an unwritten rule at clubs - jeez, you hear it spouted all the time when in suits. Phil Brown is becoming a media whore and looked a total prick in addressing his squad at half time on the pitch. Just watch him in the aftermatch interview next time they win - he'll have a smirk the size of Hull on his mush

Totally agree Marko, have a +ve. What would that smug git Shearer say if he took his car for some new tyres and the wheels fell off when he drove it out of the garage? Professional footballers seem to think they're immune from criticism; they need to spend some time in the real world.

I was at the game, and it has been blown out of all proportion by the media as per usual.
The half-time whistle went, both teams started to walk off and Brown walked on, pointing towards the away support. The players followed him over and he clapped the fans. They then sat down in a circle, and he had some stern words, for about 2 minutes. They clapped the fans again, then went in for the rest of half time. They were only on the pitch a few minutes after half time.
Personally I support what he did, because in the first half Hull were completely inept, it was one of the worst defensive performances I have ever witnessed.
