Just want to post, I was sat a few rows back from front towards middle antich. Infront of me and my lad sit a few blokes in their 60,s town tru and thru. They were giving the officials plenty of stick and were not alone. Before halftime this bloke sat on his own reported one of them to a steward for foul language, next thing two of the old bill came over and took him to one side to warn him !! If that whats the game has come down to its a bloody sad state , spoiled what was an excellent performance and day !!

Its the bloke who is out of order for reporting them. To be fair to the stewards and the police if they have a complaint they have to be seen to deal with it. In my opinion if you are averse to fould and abusive language ou shouldn't be at the game.
I thought the stewards were alright today i spent a large part of the second half stood up at the back of the antich with a few other lads and even when the steward came up to the back he didn't ask us to sit down.

Don't be ridiculous - what you are basically saying is that kids, and adults who find swearing offensive shouldn't go to a game. I accept that there'll always be swearing at games, but there has to be a limit. If I was sat near someone and thought there language was OTT, I'd say something to them.

Obviously if someone is constantly screaming out really offensive swear words, then it isn't acceptable. But swearing is part of the football atmosphere, and that's life. Pathetic to report it IMO.

Showing a bit of passion is one thing but I've been to matches where the language has been horrific.

My mate is a well known fan, a very funny and respectfull chap, not going to say his name... he was just livid about the officials and certainly the liner.... using words like wanker.... he was very very unhappy about the bloke that reported him, what a bloody coward.

Showing a bit of passion is one thing but I've been to matches where the language has been horrific. They're only words, normally its less offensive if you're insulted through swear words. I can't actually believe that someone would go and complain about swearing at a match; infact I can't believe that the said individual made it to middle-age, if he takes offense to such trivial things!

its football!!!!! a mans game!!!!!! a working class game!!!! It hasn't been that for a long time. 'Working class men' should know not to use obscene words around kids and wimin. That hasn't changed from the old days, or shouldn't have. Bit of swearings fine but if some idiots constantly shouting f*cking c*nt around my kids Id have a problem with it .Not saying these guys were in this case and I would have had a word with them rather than call a steward. Think theres a level of swearing thats acceptable. And thats ALWAYS been the case.
