... or does anyone else find the constant criticism of Michael Collins somewhat baffling? At the start of December, he was the best thing since sliced bread, now people actually want to get rid of him during the January transfer window. Baffling! A very good player when on form and a player who has proven time and time again that he has what it takes to play at a higher level (i.e. setting up GTF's goal against Chelsea, scoring against Chelsea, scoring the winner against Leeds, etc). He is, at the end of the day, a match-winner. Still needs to improve on consistency and then we'll have a right good player on our hands, same as a few of other players at this club. UTT!

I feel he needs to do more work in the gym and work on his strength

Players who are inconsistent, just need training and conditioning to make them play at their best week in week out. If Collins can do this he'll be a decent town player. He seems to raise his game in bigger matches, I'm sure Blackie can sort him.

Personally i can understand the criticism because collins is either excellent or shocking - there is nothing in-between. Granted he scores goals and has played better recently, but he has played c100 games for the club now and his inconsistency still worries me. As has been said though, maybe clark and black can give him the belief to transmit his undoubted talent onto the pitch more often than not going fwd.

I totally agree with you Lordy.
I might be a bit biased becuase Michael Collins is one of my favourite players although i do see him as an influential part of our team when on his game.
Yes he does go lost at times in games and everyone has their off days. I think people seem to forget he's won games against leeds, brighton & walsall for us, 2 of them in stoppage time, which were both very good finishes.
He is easily a championship player and he's miles better than Flynn anyway, in my opinion.
