Wouldnt mind seeing the back of Worthy this January... to be honest hes arguably fourth in the pecking order of our box-to-box midfielders behind Collins, Craney and Flynn, and hes nowhere near as good as Goodwin at breaking up the play and distributing. Would be nice if we could add some money to Clark's transfer kitty too... a striker the priority. Not sure anyone will help us by paying good money for Worthington though

He'd be good at league two? Chickens maybe?

According to Slapps, Worthington's worth at least £300k...

Give over - Worthy is easily League One material!
Whereas Flynn failed to cut the mustard last month at Darlo ... in League Two! I know who would be first out from those two

I know who would be first out from those two worthy would for me and how do you know he didnt cut it? lee clark said he did well but wanted him back to look at him,do you not back his judgement?tbh not much between the two at all but flynn hasnt played in the middle for us,so gets treated unfairly, whereas worthy hasnt improved in 2 yrs,and his shooting is terrible, could worthy cut it on the wing?flynn can play there so really covers two positions.

think flynn has played in the middle for us.........maybe once or twice,n i know at least 1 game when he was played in the middle (may ave been sheff utd) n he did really well-not as effective on the wing, but thats cos its not his best position-worthy still cant shoot (so many efforts over the bar has made me wonder if hes been trainin with the giants goalkickin squad) he cant tackle (without getting booked) his passing is hit and miss at best n doesnt seem to have improved much in recent times (though with people like andy '3 days off after a crap defeat' ritchie and stan 'the bully' ternent its hardly a surprise)

I'm a bit reluctant to slag Worthy off right now. We could get an injury, he comes into the team and a few games later he's a great player again.
Right now though, if he moves on, so be it, probably best for both parties.

Let him go if we can get maybe £50K for him - another off the wage bill. He's a League 2 player who can hold his own in League 1 when he's having a really good patch.
Good servant though - he'll definitely go with everyone's best wishes.

Even if Goodwin got injured or lost form I'd much rather have Berrett as our "holding" midfielder than Worthy. I like the lads attitude but I think he'll be the most high profile victim of the new management team unfortunately.

Why is everyone so desperate to get rid of players. I can understand with players like Unsworth and Kamara who are nowhere near the first team, but Worthington still has a big part to play in this squad.

We need new players in other positions, who need to be funded somehow. I don't know how true Clibbens' comments were but if we do need to get rid of players then we're going to have to. If someone comes in for Worthy I'd let him go. Same applies for several others; Lucketti, Unsworth, Jevons, Parker (although probably not both, or even either until we've got someone else in), Williams, possibly even Glennon if someone was willing to pay the right amount for him.

Stop taking sense For years we have complained that we haven't had competition, now we have competition and fans want to see the back of x, y, z. If the argument was to get rid of a central midfielder (we have enough) to fund bringing in a striker, its a whole different game. As for flynn v worthy - completely different players. Flynn is an attacking midfielder, never seen a box to box player in his life. Worthy the opposite on both counts. Imo, its more (or less): Holding - Goodwin Playmaker - Berrett, (Holdsworth) Box to box - Worthy Attacking - Collins, craney, flynn

JW is a true Towny & box to box player-not saying he is the future but in my opinion if fit should be in in place of Craney/Goodwin/Flynn.
PASSION

PASSION im sorry but passion doesnt make up for lack of ability i wish he had it but he doesnt and we should be looking to bring in better players than worthy, i hope he goes on to have a good career elsewhere but he doesnt have a future at town

I respect Worthy's contribution to Town but if we are to move onwards and upwards, we have to set our sights a bit higher than JW. We have a tough tackling midfielder who can pass the ball and shoot a bit as well - Jim Goodwin.
