According to today's Daily Mail both Norwich and Town are chasing Bury's Andy Bishop who has rejected a new offer. This is what I said about him yesterday on another thread about transfers:
I've seen Bury a couple of times in the last year or so. Andy Bishop is a good player but I'm not certain he'd be the type of player Town need. He reminds me of Liam Dickinson - tall, but not that good in the air. His main strength is on the ground and he seems able to play anywhere up front - out wide or down the middle. Runs splay-footed like Dickinson does as well. Not necessarily the strongest physically either, but still a good player.
IMO, Town need a more traditional type centre-forward, but they are few and far between. It's a shame Boothy isn't 10 years younger as he would be ideal now!
Bury have this winger, Bennett, who'se on long term loan from Wolves....I was impressed with him.

Could he be any worse than what we've got? Probably not, get him in.

give Butler some credit as well! Meant out of the Centre Mids he brought in. Butler is a definite stayer.

Mine, i.e. first X1- Roberts...........................(to emphasise the difference in quality with other signings).......................................................and butler
Goodwin (genuine holding player), craney (competition with collins for attacking role) in the squad.
Shape up or ship out - parker, flynn
Offski - unsworth, lucketti
All easier said than done with stan's contracts!
But at the moment, as I've said before, no need for anyone to go, we've got decent competition we've wanted for years, let them compete! Maybe one or two out to fund a striker and winger in which case, a central midfielder may go.

I'd probably say the same for worthy as for flynn (time to stand up and be counted for!) , but this was only about stan's signings! And wouldn't be looking to get rid of anyone now (definitely not unless funding a striker, or winger) and there will be a fair few chances for a number of players yet, including flynn, worthy etc.
Only difference is I see worthy as a box to box midfielder, goodwin holding, berrett playmaker....and collins, craney and flynn all in the attacking mould.
On bishop, realistic target imo - although think its likely norwich have been watching him and given clark's move, they've assumed we will be as well (not bad logic though!).

According to today's reports Bishop went off injured after 3 minutes of Bury's game at Wycombe with an injury.
Hopefully it won't be a bad enough injury to disrupt any potential transfer deal.
I haven't seen much of the player, but he has a good scoring record and the reports have been good.
It will be interesting to see if we follow through any interest, but sounds like the type of striker we need.

Actually no, I'm not sure he was injured with an injury. Serves me right for rushing that at half time of the Preston - Liverpool game ;D It looks like he came on for the injured Glynn Hurst after 3 minutes. Teletext incorrectly reported he was injured. Should have stuck to Ceefax More concerned now that Bury thought Bishop was only worthy of a place on the bench. Starting to wonder if he is any better than Jevons ....
