Summed it up perfectly. He said if we'd had Andy Booth today he would've had at least a couple of goals and he looks forward to when he can select him.
I just hope we carry on playing like this and resist the temptation to play hoofball just cos Boothy is there, that is my concern

I don't think it's worrying Aaron, just look back at the amount of quality balls that have been put into the box by Cadders in particular that have come to nothing. I really feel Boothy would benefit the side now more than he ever has. I also agree that it shouldn't hide the fact we need a striker, cos Boothy is only a temporary fix

If we decide to stick with boothy coming back and dont sign a striker, what happens when he inevitably picks up his next injury. We will be right back at square one

Yes Pace is a problem for Boothy But you've got to admit he would be feasting on some of these crosses. He would have more impact than Jevons for certain. I do agree about injuries though

It is highly unlikely that Boothy will be fully match fit before the end of the transfer window, so I hope that Clark isn't expecting more from him than he is likely to get. If the transfer window passes without the striker's role being adequately filled, I can't see Boothy being good enough (anymore) to make a huge difference. I really think that Boothy's role should be regarded as an impact sub rather than a starter.

Well if we dont sign one (or two) strikers before the end of the transfer window then we can forget about doing anything this season....
Booth cant play any more than a few games without getting injured - and cadders, jevons and parker havent scored a league goal between them all season (or for god knows how long even)
Im sure everyone at the club knows all this anyway.

What do you expect him to say? “Boothy is past it and not in my future plans” He said “he looked forward to when he can select him” Not that he is not looking for a striker or even that he will select him!

Parker got that one against Crewe, but 1 goal between 3 strikers is an appalling record.
One striker is a must, two would be ideal.

Parker looked out of his depth today, just doesnt seem to be cut out to play upfront against solid defenders.

He didn't actually say that Boothy would have bagged a couple today; he said it was the existing staff that told him Botthy would have prospered. He then said he looked forward to picking him, and of course he said that, he'snot going to say otherwise is he? And although Booth is past it, it is clear we have very little upfront at the moment and it will be good to get Boothy back - at the very least it's another striking option.

Wouldn`t call Cads a striker,i think you get more out of him playing him out wide.

He says that he went to watch a game on new years day to have a look at a player. wonder what game this was, think it must of been a conference game that he went to watch as dont think anybody else played on new years day.
Don't know much bout the conference myself, anyone got any ieas who he could be looking at?

Burton played at York on New Years day. They are a good side and on the verge of running away with the title.
Just a guess but I wondered if he has been looking at Shaun Harrad who has scored 11 goals this season.
Otherwise the SPL had a full set of fixtures I believe, so he could be looking at a player in Scotland. Town have historically rarely recruited from the Scottish scene however - I'm not sure why ?

He's not saying Boothy is the answer, just making an observational comment regarding the players we already have. Im certain he knows we need a striker, and he'll be on with looking for one. No point in broadcasting it to the world so other clubs know were looking and add an extra 100k to anyone we might want to buy

I bet there were plenty of people (myself included) saying we'd have won the game yesterday with Boothy upfront.
Seems a straight forward observation with all the crosses we put in & Boothy being the best centre forward in the air in League 1.
Re-injuries. Yes he's had injuries but in just under 8 years since he came back he's played almost 300 games which is an average of over 35 a season so not as injury prone as you may think.
