To say scunny fans warned us his passing was shocking, he cant half pick a long range pass out. A couple today were bang on the money

Baffles me how his passing is so accurate, but as soon as he tries to shoot it flys up into the sky like a rocket! ;D

*Controversy alert- Read no further if you can't stand academy player bashing*
Goodwin organises the players around him and talks a lot more to the team than Holdsworth, whose performances seem hindered by the captaincy.
Time for a swap in my opinion.

That was the best game Goodwins had for us. Hes played well in patches of other games but has always seemed to disappear from time to time or make clumsy mistakes. Today I thought he was solid, combatitive and used the ball well throughout.

Holdsworth had a quality game today apart from one mistake today. Kept Taylor very quiet so much so he had to resort to falling over.
Can't keep swapping the captaincy over just for a dip of form either (or a run of form in Goodwin's case).
Plus it's easier to be involved in organisation playing CM than RB, remember Brummie home cup game, Holdsworth was inspirational in the captaincy but then again he was playing CM.

Far too much is made of captaincy. All it needs is someone calm enough to have a word with the ref in a decent manner when needed, go up for the toss and get on well enough with everyone that he can organise any off field team building stuff. On the pitch if Goodwin or anyone else wants to encourage ,bollock someone or lead by example, then they don't need a silly armband on to be able to do it.

I actually thought he was nowhere near as good as against scunny(a game he was obviously massivey "UP FOR") in which he was immense. He was still comfortably one of our best players today though. Is your Jon sulking again slaps?

I'm not saying his form has dipped dramatically, just he seems to be less effectual. Regardless, as you say it is easier from CM, but AH doesn't talk to the players at all. Saying 'come on' with a motivational hand clap may not be the most original, but its a conscious effort. AH doesn't seem to 'gee up' the crowd either anymore.

I thought he was a bit eratic against Scunny. Got about them well but his passing wasn't as good as today and he was very lucky not to gift them a goal in that game with an awfull stray pass that lead to their offside 'goal'. Can't fault him today. My Jon's not a sulker manc but on current form hes going to have to be patient along with 2 or 3 others to get a look in. I'll have him doing shooting practice in the local farm tomorrow, then he can take Jevon's place up front if he manages to hit a barn door.

saw this myself today and was wondering why scunny fans hated him so much, they said all he does is one yard passes and points, today he had a good range of passing and mopped up well, glad we signed him

I'll give you that, his heart doesnt seem to be in it as much as it used to be, I think it's a distinct possibility we wont be see AH in a town shirt for much longer.

There have been a few comments about holdsworth's heart not been in it as much ( ?) which I find baffling to be honest - still get the pumped fist, his own clap to the antich at the start of the 2nd half. When we have scored he hans't run down to the other end to celebrate which I admit, I found odd myself as he's usuually the first to celebrate. But watch him next time, he ceebrates with the crowd, and waits for the players to come back, getting the shape organised and getting the players focussed. A sign of maturity imo. A change for the better since becomming captain?

To think, he had been titled, by some, 'the worst player we've ever had'.

I thought AH had his best game for a while yesterday. Yeah I'd been getting a bit worried about Holdsworth's recent form, but he was much improved yesterday

To say scunny fans warned us his passing was shocking, he cant half pick a long range pass out. A couple today were bang on the money He made a few awesome 40 yard Beckenbauer passes, which - when you have someone with the control of Cads, who can bring them under control in one movement with ease - is a useful outlet.
