I was shocked to hear him talk about eating burgers all the time. I had this daft illusion that professional footballers took their diet seriously (also ruined by seeing lots of the Town squad in Ibiza airport going to burger king!).

With regards players diets, before an England European championship match the England squad were rumered to have had burger and chips the night before a big game. The reason being that players burn off so much fat and calories that they need a quick energy release during a game which fat does give for a physicaly fit person.
So if you see the Town players drinking and eating burgers on a Friday night don't worry!

For those interested in Lee Fowler, in the last issue of the fanzine, issue 2 ... we interviewed him (he's now at Forest Green Rovers) ... there were a couple of interesting comments, some of which, presumably, refer to Jacko, in a fairly negative light. The second issue of the 'zine can be downloaded here. Cheers.

And England has been so successful over the last championships...

If chicken nuggets are ok for breakfast for the fastest man ever, then I don't think burgers and chips will do Town players any harm.

I am quite sure that if you are at the top of your game then you are allowed to eat whatever you want. However if you are an out of condition, over weight piss pot it is not advisable to be seen ramming burgers down your neck when you are supposed to be a proffesional sportsman. They've come and they've gone and they've regretted it too.

Sorry, I'm not the Spelling Police and I am going off topic, but that just reminded me of the funniest small ad I ever saw, for a 'Proffesional CV Writing Service' ;D I would rather have used the catering staff at the Stadium to write it!! Wouldn't have made much of an impression in wax crayon though...
