Living down here I have watched Lamberts progress with Rovers over the past 2 years. To say he was shockingly bad for the first 9-12 months would not be an understatement. The Rovers fans used to shout Donkey at him and many thought him a waste of money.About 6 months after he was signed I met the Rovers Chairman on the Train to Cheltenham Races and he said then that Lambert was a quality player and he would come good.He said that fans rarely if ever think of players personal circumstances.Lambert had moved 200 miles south and left his wife and young kids.He was living in a hotel room and trying to find a new home while also arranging for his family to come down on occasional short visits. He also had the little matter of scoring goals to consider.Within a couple more months he was settled in a new place and had his family around him.He scores in a play off final wins promotion and the rest is history. If and when we sign any new players we must be patient.I for one don't think we have seen the best of Roberts yet but Butler and Goodwin are starting to come good. The same will apply to the management team.We have not seen the best of them yet.The future is bright.TTID.
