Hi Guys, sorry for invading your board. I don't know if you are aware of the ernieflag website which was set up in memory of Ernie Cooksey who died of skin cancer in the summer. We are doing a report from every game this season and the Huddersfield report is now on line if you want to see what we made of the trip over the Pennines. www.ernieflag.co.ukThanks Mark

mostly a good read but had to lol at the comment about our season ticket sales vs home fans attendance...
1) coming from Oldham, *cough* 2) It's fairly obvious, when you give it just a minutes thought, as to why we get 14k from 16k.
Here's the rocket science - follow closely...... the season tickets were soooo good value, pretty much every (semi serious and above) town fan bought one. Some don't / can't attend avery game....some, whilst buying their ticket, buy kids tickets, who again don't make every game.

To be fair mate, It's one of the most unbiased reports I've read from a team who played against our club, glad you enjoyed your day out to the right side of the pennines and sorry about the traffic, we were stuck in the Gas club car park for about 35-40 minutes ourselves. Keep up the reports mate, it makes of interesting reads. As for our fans, give the man some space just because he's an Oldham fan doesn't make him scum all of a sudden. Not all 3,000 fans from there were there for a fight on Saturday. Anyways, enjoy rest of your season (As long as below town!)

Huddersfield announced on the Friday that there would be ‘pay on the day’. I say announced but in reality, they told a few people over the phone but refused to confirm in officially.,but a bit awkward dropping down towards the ground as the roads round there tend to be permanently clogged up,Instead, we had to make do with the sign which pronounced Huddersfield Town as the Family Club of The Year, we passed a teenage lad on his pushbike who took the opportunity to abuse us.The bar staff, on the other hand, looked like extra’s from Shameless. I certainly wouldn’t have fancied my chances in an arm-wrestling ,am also always surprised and disappointed, were forced to brave the burgers that were being served through a small hatch in the pub,Mike returned to the bar to be told that they had run out of beer. Never has the term ‘piss up in a brewery’ been more apt, still can’t believe that they sold over sixteen thousand season tickets through their discounted scheme, yet cannot regularly attract crowds over thirteen thousand.Look, he’s bought the Centenary shirt, give him a round of applause.” It doesn’t take much to get a bit of recognition round there, does it?Just as we were hoping for a quick get away we faced disappointment. every other car in the West Riding of Yorkshire went passed there ive shortened it moan moan

That was quite an enjoyable 5 minutes or so reading through your blog. Good work and good luck on your tour of grounds Can't understand why a few on here are pulling it apart. The group seem harmless and pleasant enough!

I agree, interesting report and a very nice thing that you're doing. Good luck, although if it turns out that Oldham's final game is at Wembley in the play-offs, I hope you get beat by a team in blue and white. Or even the Centenary shirt!

I'm glad some of you enjoyed the article/website and sorry to those who seem to be deeply offended by a bit of tongue in cheek banter. Perhaps you'd have preferred reading the article from our win at Elland Road! All the best for the rest of the season.

Slags off our attendance? Oldham wouldnt get 10000 if they let em in for nowt. And their ground doesnt even hold that many.
We would have got 13000+ for this game if it was full price for everyone.
I've come to the conclusion that Oldham fans are insanely jealous by our ground, crowd, history and take every single opportunity to have a pop at our support. Brilliant - your cup final and you bring 3000. Our away average attendance is still higher than Oldhams for the season and we have been mid-bottom half most of it, and they have been top 5.

well said jimmy, like i said earlier theyd be lucky to take 15,000 plus to wembley let alone for a home game, they can take the pis% outta our stand names all they want but to take the pis5 outta our attendance is laughable considering what they get and how big their ground is fcuk em
