Can't remember the scorer but one about 5 years ago at the mac. Opposition on counter attack and only efe sodje covering. He got to ball first and dropped shoulder, turned and smacked a 50 yard, cross field ball to pav who simply (on the half volley) knocked it into the path of an onrushing midfielder who put it away. Similar to Collins' last week but a lot better. Not best goal ever, but still very good. GTF's is played on big screen every home game, and every time I turn to my dad and say "we should never have let him go". cant remember the opposition but seem to think sodje hit it to nat brown who laid it off first time on the volley to steady who finished it (i think )

It was against Yeovil Town when we went up from the old 3rd Division and it was Sodje who knocked the ball long to Abbott who laid the ball on to Schofield who calmly slotted the ball pass the keeper... a very good goal.
Two that I don't think have been mentioned yet are Starbucks and Dunns goals against Carlisle back in 1994, the last cup game to be played at Leeds Road. Both were strikes that wouldn't have looked out of place in a Goal of the Season competition.
Also Robbie Edwards goal against Hull a few years back was also a fabulous strike.

kieran O'regans penalty against bury at leeds road, he was in goal at the time as our keeper(think it was lee martin) had been sent off and this was in the days before sub keepers.

Tony Carss volley takes alot of beating.
Paul Barnes hit a screamer volley away at Stoke. was in new stadium but cant remember year. You felt like you were right on top of it in that steep away end.
Game I seem to remember having a load of quality goals - Forest Littlewoods cup (90?)

was a night to remember alright i went on my own on coach and was stood at back of the terraced bit under seats. remember a massive chorus of 'walking in a billy wonderland'.
even whe they went in front i didnt matter cos we had to score, it jst meant e/time pens and more drama. the feeling when bully's hit the net was just awesome cos for a split second it looked like keeper(dearden?) had saved it.
all players singing to paul reid who was sat above us. he was really good for town.
the rest is history but that night is legendary.

Surprised nobody has mentioned boothy's right footed volley against rotherham in 94/95 - cracker.
Carss' effort was excellent - pinpoint ball from holdsworth and superb technical finish.
Rob edwards v man city stands out for most as a team move and classy finish.

Personally I think Boothy's strikes against Cambridge in 1994 in the 5-4 win and his strike against Tranmere back in 2006 were better But still a great goal scored by a great player.
