I know there is plenty of discussions and opinions on this subject, but just watched the goals on HTFC World
Their goal comes from a long kick from their keeper, Akinfenwa nudges Clarke off the ball (I say nudges - but with the size of that mans thighs I guess it felt like being hit by a tank), runs and and ball falls nicely for him - we know what happens next
So I can't see all the digs etc at Robbo/Collins etc = If he had taken it into the corner , there would have been a dead ball/freekick given away, and ball would still have been launched downfield - So I feel its a little harsh for all the effing and blinding against the two Lads
Lets call it experience, learn from it on the pitch,- I guess most would have taken a point before the game, so lets not be too downhearted. Lets get behind the team in numbers next Sat, someone is due a stuffing, and even without the sought after Graham, we have have goalscorers to get a good win We are still getting used to Lee Clark (have I spelt it correctly ?!), but I am so impressed by him its amazing - He talks well, he has the contacts, he is done it at a high level for a good dozen years - our lads will only get better for it. UTT

UTT It wasn't any particular incident for me, including the Collins/Roberts one. I was moaning to my son that we were not making any attempt to retain possession safely during the last 5 mins when we were a goal up and facing 10 men. The midfield were not showing and the defencce were hoofing clear and as a consequence we were giving away possession when we could have played with the ball and wasted the whole of the last 5 nins plus ET. Everyone was to blame for this, but resposibility has to fall on the midfield and experienced players to control that passage of play. It just didn't happen and I would have expected more nouse from a team of 13 yr olds.

"If he had taken it into the corner , there would have been a dead ball/freekick given away, and ball would still have been launched downfield"
So no chance we could have got a corner or throw in then?...........followed by the ref blowing for full time.
Or does that option not exists on planet ignore the bleeding obvious?

It's a statistical fact that more goals are scored in the last minute than any other. It's one reason why I can't understand people leaving games early. When Town are next in the position of defending a one goal lead in the last minute they should just welly the ball into the stands...every time!

I don't think it is at all. Goals are scored any time.

Surely it just seems like it because '90 minutes' includes all injury time...

Dont worry, Blackie and the team will turn what happened into a positive.... reverse psychology and all that. Lets hope its a hard lesson learned and it does not happen again this season... if so then lets just start again against swindon, the development goes on ..... you could hear in Clarks voice how it really hurt, the blokes a winner... something were not accustomed to at Town.

Dont worry, Blackie and the team will turn what happened into a positive.... reverse psychology and all that. Do you think he could use some of his black magic on the opposing team during the game. Stick pins in dolls or hypnotise their goalie so he throws the ball into his own net.
