I know its the ambition of all Town fans to reach the promised land of the Premiership but how will we put up with all the cheating, diving, harrassment of officials and all round childish behaviour of these so called mega stars.I turned the big game off yesterday after the Rooney/Giggs corner incident and all the shouting at officials that came with it.OK some may call it a clever piece of play.I call it trying to con the ref, linesman and opposition. No rules were broken but the spirit of the game was. After watching Town for over 40 years I can honestly say that I cannot remember any Town player acting like these premiership spoilt brats.Rant over.

I remember some Sheff Utd fans (only a couple) were hoping they'd get relegated for the exact reasons you state.
It's a dilemma as I hate the Premiership too. I'd love to feel as though we were getting one over on the scum in football though; giving the Gerrards, Lampards, Ronaldos, Terrys etc. a bit of stick as we nick victory against them. It'd be priceless!

I can't be arsed to watch any Premier games these days, might be good football but it's not the football i want to see. It's not real, and i'd rather have no part in it! Bloody foreigners and spoilt brats who have lost touch with reality, 30 years of Town and not too bothered if we ever do get to the promised land,...........that's my rant over too!

Have to agree regarding the premiership games. Can't remember the last time I watched a game from begining to end.Maybe it's apathy as there is so much on TV but I think most of it is because of the reasons you state.

The Rooney -Giggs corner was seen at The Mcalpine 2 or 3 Yrs ago. That's right Bro, Brandon did it 2 or 3 times as I remember!!! I think you need to differentiate the swearing and diving, which needs stamping out, from the corner routine which was very clever!! Perhaps we should stamp out step overs and other such moves which are obviously a deliberate attempt to deceive opposition players to gain an advantage!!!!

Its not just the premier league where players surround the refs and linesmen.

One tries ones best!!!! As I said I do agree re the swearing and surrounding the ref which could easily be stamped out with a few cards here and there but what did Rooney do wrong?? I've played Sunday football when refs have stated that if he hears any player swear he will book him, do it again and he will be sent off!! Is it that difficult!!!! Re the corner, he took the ball in the 'D' and rolled it out again!! Just cos Giggs wasn't stood next to him when he did it, does that matter?

IMO the liner should have been alert to the move. He seemed so slow to it. Although it maybe seen as not 'gentleman' conduct it isn't an illegal move. Any team that does it now is copying.

I agree with everyone about the Premier League not being that great, but I would love to see Town there one day just for the exposure we would get.

Don't see it as 'ungentlemanly conduct' either!!!
Is taking a quick throw in ungentlemanly? Or dummying to take a free kick and back heeling it to a third player to shoot?
I would put those all in the category of clever play rather than cheating!!!

Bristol - i have some sympathy with your criticism of the pampered, overpaid and overhyped premiership product, but ultimately if roberts did that in the play off final at wembley against leeds and boothy heads the winner me thinks you might be a tad happy about it!!!!!!!!!!!! Re the greedy league - i do think the current economic climate will temper down the cheating/diving etc going forward as the obscene money which is there right now will undoubtedly reduce in football as it is doing in every other aspect of life. We might then start to see players who really want to play for their teams - unlike that rabble for spurs yday that reportedly earn >£800k per week combined and are at best an average football team!
