Since it seems this porter deal wont happen, would anyone be worried if we got a decent young loanee in? I for one would love to see someone like nemeth at liverpool come in and do a job for us!
Seems the better strikers won't want to come here but lets hope Clarky can do some wheeling and dealing to get a good player in!

what will be more worrying is if clark doesnt't get any striker in the window
on loan or a transfer. what will happen then.?

These things take time and personally I'm not worried. We can get quality here look at Roberts as a good example. Porter has his own reasons for not coming but let's move on. Life's not about if's but's and maybe's.
As someone on another thread has posted 'for 1 player signed we must have 7 or 8 reject' unless your Man United or Real Madrid then this is going to happen.
I still expect a signing before deadline day and my personal hope is the boy Craddock from Boro/Luton! I think Graham will either sign a new deal at Carlisle or go to Preston.
Another thing to think about is the trialists we have at the moment. It's very quiet on that front so who knows!!!!!

also worth remembering that the loan market is still open after the window closes (though if im right it MIGHT be closed for a week after the window closes, but then re-opens again) and it's also still possible to sign players on a free who arent at a club once the window closes

I have predicted on here many many times that once Jevo finds the onion bag once he will go on a goalscoring run. He was messed about by Ternent and is only now starting to look a sharp striker again IMO. Clark has only had a month with them so far and all players not just our No 14 are starting to look sharper. Don't write PJ off yet. 10 more at least from him before the end of the season. Mark my words.

sadly the longer we wait for a striker the more it will damage our play off hopes,in my view in the oldham and northampton games we dropped 4 points,no guarantees we would have won them but my belief is that we would have done,i dont blame clark in any way as hes obviously trying to get one in,hes seen the problem, but the fact is we need one to get to the play offs,we wont get there without a higher goal output.

If the management team instills self belief into the players, coupled with the fans being positive, it's got to be a good thing for everyone involved with the club!

He could quite easily go get 15 unsworth's, lucketti's, parker's, flynn's etc
Or he could wait to ensure we get a roberts.
I know which I prefer.

The key is time guys - we have to give clarky the time to build "his" squad and if that means in the summer so be it. This is a long term project not a short term plaster over a wound - anything this year is a huge bonus and we mustnt forget that!

agree its got to be the right signing but its frustrating to know a striker will probably finish the job for us after stan fecked us up at the begining of this season, his stubborness i think will ultamatley cost us this yr,pity because the turn around of our results and style of play are worthy of more ,who knows boothy might be able to bring the best out of jevons.

haha 10 more jevons goals this season? ;D
improving on his one goal in 8 months to suddenly strike 10 times in 22 (or whatever) games? ;D
add to that Parker who has scored once since May 2007
booth who has scored once this season and is always injured
cadders who hasnt scored since...?
but then this was predicted before the season started - cheers again stan...oh but at least we have 7 central midfielders though int it? ;D
