He has not been one of the better players in my eyes Cads & Roberts deserve them plaudits. He personally has improved but he has set himself pretty low standards hasn't he.

Today I scrutinised the players who get criticism(Williams, Collins) and the golden boys (Holdsworth) and I thought that Williams had a decent game.
He still occasionally gets caught out of position and has to be bailed out by his team mates but he has vastly improved from early season.
By far our worst player today was Parker. Zero threat of their goal and didn't create ANYTHING.

He should have had one today when Roberts put him through, but he was too slow and the defenders crowded him out.

To be fair to parjer, he made the first goal, had the turn on the spin in the 1st half and another shot saved in the 2nd. But he was also as infuriating as ever and his decision making as to shoot/cross/take another touch all at sea again.
Williams had a good solid game imo.
Holdsworth looking more confident and getting forwards more and more by the week. Good to see.

Williams is looking good at the moment, as good as anyone to be fair to him! Parker looks a waste of space though, been rubbish since his suspension.

haha besides setting that goal up he was very poor IMO.
Most of his on the ball play was poor and there was a few times where he was playing too deep.
Probably just an off day in regards to some aspects of his game.

Id like to know what williams was like before his injury at dingle land. Maybe our friend dreamboy can help us out. Wondering if he ever had any pace?

Barnsley fans that i work with were not that keen on him, everything i've said about him they have agreed with. But i've got to admit he's been quite good lately and certainly the best of our 3 left backs by some distance!

RW has shown improvement but recently I think Butler has improved the more of the 2 of them, he's really starting to get a partnership going with Clarke.

In fairness Butler and Clarke have played together a lot now and always had each other to help each other out and back each other up and it's great to see it now working and they are becoming a strong unit.
Williams however has had to get used to working on his own because with the greatest respect to Roberts he supplies no back up to Williams whatsoever. I know Roberts is an attacking player and we can't have everything it's just the way I see it.

I thought Holdsworth was poor today, there were a couple of occassions when the little black lad turned him inside out & got crosses in.

Had a great game today!!
May be benefitting from having Roberts back in front of him as he has someone to find on a regular basis AND Roberts tends to keep the right backs and right midfielders busy!!!!

robbie has been playing well of late, and he has had free kicks taken off him! maybe hes been told to work more on his defensive role in the team rather than his attacking one!
plus, hes head and shoulders above skarz, when he was fit and in the team i think he cost us 9 goals on bounce! hes a waste of space so im glad robbie is playing well and keeping him out of side

hes a young lad that has is a worse player now, than when he made debut!
lets not loan him out, hes rubbish and shud go!
he can not defend to save his life! at the start of season he was a joke, and when we went on are really bad run, it was him that was costing us the goals! i know he scored against leeds, but lets not forget it was his fault that they scored in 1st place!

RW gets caught out of posistion far too many times and is not quick enough that's why LC is looking to bring in a left back

I totally disagree with several of you about Robbie Williams. He remains our weakest link although he has put in some improved performances recently. My main criticisms are that he is too slow and, on account of that, allows his opponent far too much room. Furthermore, if lost upfield, he simply ambles back and leaves others to pick up the pieces. If you do not believe me then watch him closely next game.

williams is improving each game
could this be that his fitness (and hes looked very unfit at time whilst at town) and confidence are imrpoving week by week and so his performance does?
