is any striker going to sign for town? Porter now turned us down,Danny Grahams club wont let us talk to him so ive a gut feeling that we will panic into a signing come end of january. Knowing our luck it will be a unknown, unproven striker that we never heard off mark m words.. Ive never seen so many quality crosses go into box but no one there to finish tem off, come on strikers we a club going places nd if you dont hurry up you will miss the gravy train.

Lets be patient, Clark says if we don't get the right man in January we'll wait until the summer, and he's absolutely right to say that.

Clark has made it clear that he will NOT sign a player for the sake of it and they WILL be the right player for the club. So i cant see him signing a flop, he also stated he will wait till the summer if it means he signs the right player.

He's let Broadbent go out on loan though he must be fairly confident of getting at least one of his targets in, especially considering we only have 2 fit strikers at the club now

We dont need to beg strikers to come here now.... we are a great club with the most positive feel since we won promotion at Cardiff imo ! Im sure Lee will sign a quality Striker, as he said he could bring in many players who are not any better.... no point at all. As for Graham good luck to him if hed rather stay at a club thats going nowhere but we shouldnt allow anyone to hold us to ransom.

if we cant get in a good striker there are quite a few quality young lads out there who could come in on loan! Obviously today if we had a graham/pkillips or Porter we may have scored 4 or even 5!

I don't think it's Graham thats the problem,Ithink Carlisle are playing brinkmanship, interspersed with trying to get a dutch auction going. Thought that the Swindon scorer - Cox - looked decent today - scored 17 so far this season

Come off it we've been patient enough. Clark is pulling the wool over your eyes if you think he is willing to not bring a striker in before the end of this transfer window.
We need a striker now to kick on this season. I struggle to see how any striker could not be right for us at the moment. If they flop we get shut in the summer but what we do not do is not get at least one in.
Next season is next season.

If they flop we get shut in the summer How? It's not that easy is it. Lucketti and Unsworth have both flopped and now we're stuck with them on the wage bill, unfortunately you can't sack players if they 'flop'

Its alright being patient but surely even a loan striker would be better than the options we currently have. Another game goes by where weve totally dominated, created chance after chance after chance, and Jevons and Parker have failed to score. Is it SIX goals from open play from our strikers ALL SEASON !! and 3 of them were from dickinson! Between the boss and his coaches , they must have enough contacts at the top end of the game to get in some sort of goalscorer surely. If he only got 3 or 4 goals til the end of the season, it'll be 3 or 4 more than jevons will get. ( And I actually thought Jevons had a decent game. Some good touches, even won a challenge!! But all his good work is done 40 yards from the goal. Strikers are judged on goals and cos of that ,you have to say jevons is a complete failure and needs replacing asap) It'll be such a shame if this season ends in failure ( ie- not going up ) just because we were unable to bring any kind of decent striker to the club. Offer Carlisle another 50 grand if thats the player Clark wants. Going up, or even just getting in the play-offs will pay that back many times over

I thought we had won 8 out of our last 12 league games? Can't be that bad! But parker has scored 1 in his last 43 apps, jevons is a threat but a link player who will get 1 in 2.5, cdders will be used out wide more and has never been a prolific 'poacher', boothy will poach but he's a bonus rather than relying on him ...i.e we still need the poacher
But scored our most goals last season when booth and cadders started and they were the least prolific individually - i.e. its the team that matters.
But stevie wonder could see we need an out and out striker - and I completely agree we need another striker (I don't know anyone who doesn't) but if we are to kake a permanent signing, I'd rather wait for the QUALITY we need. Patience needed.
Not to say he we can't make a loan signing though - and he will if he doesn't get the permanent player he wants.

As long as we don't end up with that Lee Ashcroft guy or whatever his name was I'll be fairly happy

This is the kind of problem the transfer window creates. players, agents and clubs playing the transfer game and putting their players in the window in one way or another. Town have gambled on the cash option because there was hardly any cash transfers last year as clubs just went for loan and freebie signings. The Clubs and players are holding out to see what else transpires because they are aware they have until the end of the month. Clark realizes we need a "different type" of striker at the club but would rather buy one who can play at an higher level. I do believe he'd take a lesser striker on who would play the kind of role he wants should non of the offers come to fruition. Rochdale v Lincoln today??? Anyone know any of the strikers?

Why do you ask? If we had a scout there, its probably to watch Buckley, young midfielder who is supposed to be a real talent.

His club have said he can't talk to us at the moment. Buckley? Any particular reason? At this moment means this transfer window, or just this week?

They hold his contract and we have to go through the club. I think they'll want an auction, so we'll have to wait for the dust to settle probably.
