I know it's been said many times - but "the Championship" is rubbish. Too long highlights of Championship, then try and crap L1/L2 into 10 minutes at the end
Also..
Why does. Matt Smith talk in. Stupid sentences with. Inappropriate gaps, and trying. To be clever with the way. He rolls his eyes. I definitely won't. Be watching the the Doctor Who, he. Will be rubbish!

I think it summed The Championship up perfectly last week or the week before, when the main match was a QPR 0-0 draw (with Watford I think).
Also before every match/league highlight, the presenter repeats something to do with the main match. Like today: "Well Cardiff had to settle for a point here today, let's see if it was the same for the teams in League 2."
Sooner BBC does them the better.

The scheduling of the programme is pretty poor too, it varies from week to week. I would prefer it if the main game highlights were a little shorter and more time was devoted to other fixtures.
A few years back when ITV Digital infamously won the football league rights, there was a dedicated programme for each division which was pretty good.
I watch 'The Championship' most weeks, but prefer 'Big League Weekend' on Sky Sports. Matt Smith is generally ok as a presenter, but as you say the eye rolling thing is unecessary.
I think from next season the football league highlights package will be shown on the BBC. It will be interesting to see what they come up with as an alternative.

Will be rubbish! That drives me out of my mind...Words cannot describe how irritating that is! And worst of all he does it all in a sodding monotone!

ITV 's football coverage is absolutely shocking. DAVID PLEAT?!?! ?! He knows absolutely nothing. Ashley Cole won ITV's MOTM against Southend... the left back who did very little wrong out of his 3 touches of the ball. I hate any football being on ITV

Lets not forget that until the championship came a long the only football league highlights were on about 1am on a Monday night. And with regards to the 0-0 draw as a main match, they pick the main match before hand so they have a commentator there. They can't really do much about the result.

DAVID PLEAT?!?! ?! He knows absolutely nothing. Not so, he knows how to pick up prostitutes in car parks, how to sound posh in an attempt to hide his East Midlands accent and how to hop, skip and jump across the pitch in a disturbingly camp fashion wearing a lightly flared biscuit suit and hush puppies.

pleat is the most boring monotonous dull incapable co-commentator ever-he cant pronounce players names right,he tries to be funny but fails miserably,he tries to sound clever but fails miserably, and tbh the fact hes likely gonna be the co-commentator means (as i aint got setanta) that i'll just give the fa cup final a miss (thank god for sky having the champions league final so i dont have to put up with pleat again) also its totally true that ITV's footy coverage is garbage and always has been-they dont care about L1/L2,when it comes to champions league coverage its trash as in the 11-12mins (as it always starts late) between the prog starting and the match kicking off they manage to have 2 ad breaks it seems, they finish the programme at a time that means theres basically no time for any real post match talk or reaction from the managers, and tbh their coverage on the whole really is utter trash-still,thats what ITV excel at,being utter trash in basically everything they do
