He's valued at £1M plus and is being courted by the likes of Fulham and Bolton. Although I'd agree that he would be a useful signing, we might as well be saying "lets sign Messi" because he's just as out of reach as Cox.
People, we need to start being realistic in our "we should sign blah from blah" comments. We're 3rd tier and still have limited resources, even with Dean Hoyle at the helm.

Again, let's not delude ourselves. Ask yourself honestly, why would Porter come to Town? I'm a Town fan through and through but I'm also a realist. He WOULDN'T be furthering his career by coming to Town. Like his agent suggests, he would be going back to a league that he left a couple of seasons ago. He moved to the SPL to improve his career aspects and who can blame him. He's playing regular football and has even played in the UEFA Cup. He's gonna need Championship football and a pay rise to tempt him back before the summer. Even then, he's going to be able to approach 80% of the Championship clubs and they'll be interested in him.
Lets start thinking realistic and whilst I admire Clarks aspirations to sign the best players possible, he's going to be nearing the time time when he realises that he MAY be setting his sights a little too high. Just my opinion, please don't shoot me!

Cox scored a decent goal on saturday but also missed 2 absolute sitters in front of the South Stand, is he really the type of striker we need? need a big, strong goalscorer.

A footballer who is too good for third tier English football. And he's right. We've no divine right to any of these players ... There's a lack of perspective on here sometimes

Maybe but a 1 goal in 3 chances ratio is about 15 times better than our current 2 are managing! Cox -17 goals Parker& Jevons combined - 2 goals

I agree, but think that needed saying in the Shola Ameobi thread more so than regarding Chris Porter Or the Frazier Campbell thread Even more so regarding Campbell (apparently worth £7m!). My L**ds fans mate heard on the radio before the Swindon game "we may see Lee Bowyer playing in the blue and white of Huddersfield before too long". He also heard the farcial Campbell rumour on the same show. I think our new management team have tipped some people over the edge!

I hope I don't get too much (if any!) criticism! I'ts only my opinion but surely most 'sensible' people would have to agree with me. I hope I'm made to eat my words and Clark pulls one of his targets out of the bag. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My heart says it'll work out before 2nd Feb but my head tells me that it won't.
