Can't understand people saying they wouldn't want Paul Gallagher but would love it if Jon Stead came back With 1 international cap and plenty of Premier games under his belt, he has higher class experience than Dickinson, Cox, Porter, Graham. I think the only problem with it is that £1m is a lot of money in L1 and if he didn't score nearly every week, he would be seen as money badly spent. Exactly. Not saying it's a bad signing full stop, just no a million quids worth! Oh I see. In that case I agree with you (not quite so bad if its £1m after so many games/goals, etc).

If you've a million quid we will give you Macken, Odejayi, terminate the loan of Rigters, give you the injured Coulson and that should be enough striking options for you

Even though it's a million quid, I think it would be a great signings, and a signal of our intentions.
It'd catch the eye as well, raise our profile, and let other players know we mean business.

It seems he has a decent scoring record at championship level. But is £1 million a bit steep in the current market? Clark really is going for broke on his striker quest! Never seen us make so many consectutive striker bids. 127 appearances 26 goals! thats not a decent scoring record

In the 88 games he has started in the Premier League and The Championship he has 26 goals, which considering the level, is a very good record if you ask me, 1 in every 3. For comparison, Torres was a 1 in every 3 striker before he moved to Liverpool.

That's all fair enough, but if the transfer fee is £1 million I'd want somebody with more than 26 goals in 88 starts regardless of the level. Certainly somebody who had scored more than 7 this season.

i say danny graham and simon cox upfront for 1 million For about the 5th time, Cox would cost us £1million ALONE and that is AT LEAST, and he wouldn't sign for us.

Gallagher is a player who has looked ok when given a chance in the premier league and looked like a quality championship player while playing at that level.
Graham never played in the premier league and was released on a free as boro didnt rate him all that much.
Cox couldnt get a look in at Reading either.
Gallagher at this level would stand out like a sore thumb imo. Whereas Graham and Cox whilst looking ok when we have played against them havent exactly stood out.
Would be an awesome signing imo

It wont cost anywhere near that upfront. I imagine Rovers would let him go for less than that if they are happy to have him on loan all season. Its not like he needs experience, he is simply surplus to requirements. Same with Dickinson.

If we got both that would be some coup, despite it being dicko. The one thing he would do is give defenders something to think about and get in their way whilst Gallagher ran rings around them

Don't think it will happen, but if it did Personally i don't think Gallagher will like the fact that we are in League 1, he hasnt had much game expeirence for how old he is, feel sorry for the chap!
