Not clinical enough, should have been 100 in 2 seasons. I'm gonna look him up on soccerbase now... EDIT: www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=41782Good scoring record, but I would have hoped he was 21/22/23 years old . Still, its a cheap bid and he has a good record.

Hmm interesting one. He's always stuck the ball in the back of the net - yet there has hardly been any interest from other clubs which always makes me wonder why!
16 goals so far this season - just looked on a D&R forum and said his wife has just given birth and they may have been complications - which would on a personal level scupper any deal IMO.
I think half of these are just agent talk, obviously they know we want a striker and have the cash to do the bizness!

Not what we need really, IMO we need physically imposing players, and whilst this lad can score, Im not sure how he'll do against more pysical centre halves. Graham, Porter, Gallagher are all 6ft plus

Soccerbase have him as played 110 and scored 55 for Dag& Red. 1 every 2 games is a good rate. 29 years old and 6'2".

Why are we ruling players out based on size. Surely Clark has thought of this and will go for 2 strikers

Personally i think d Graham is what we need, scored in this league, physical presence and only 23

Why are we ruling players out based on size. Surely Clark has thought of this and will go for 2 strikers Because we are physically very small, and the higher you move up the leagues the bigger and more athletic the opposition become. Its all good and well being lauded for good performance as you get beat, but personally if we went up this season I'd like to see us compete next season, and if we dont go up this season I'd like us to totally steamroller teams next year, both footballing wise and physically

if we are struggling to sign the "right" guy in this transfer window, then surely 150k on a player as a short term option is good business. We need to start scoring goals, this guy knows where the back of the net is. Probably wouldn't expect a high wage either. This sounds like contingency planning to me.

Worth a go at £150k I'd say. Before we even think about any other attributes, we need a striker who scores regularly, and he seems to fit the bill.

dont think he is good at all, when i saw him play he was shit and did nothing upfront got taken off after 68 minutes and there were a few boo's, I dont think Lee Clark would like him after he said he was looking at premiership players

Hard to tell how tall he is from this pic: Looks like a grafter that can deliver though. Mind you, we've already got one Butler in the side...

All we need to do is find a striker called Hedges and we'll be smokin'hot up front.

Do you think this rumour is a smokescreen for other possible transfers?

I think after listening to Lee's last interview about what a striker needs it was obvious we are looking for ones with that "killer instinct" not legs like Peter Crouch

I saw Dagenham a few weeks ago at Aldershot. Benson was anonymous, but he has a good scoring record. I think his career history suggests he's at his true level now. I wouldn't like him at Town.

A very similar player to Luke Beckett. I don't think he has what it takes for him to reach 20+ goals a season. Time will tell. Anyone know how old he is? Good scoring record this season though. Not suprised at speculation.

A very similar player to Luke Beckett. Beckett would score a bag full with the chances we are creating at the moment.

Not the type of player clark is wanting, he wants a player that can play at this level and more then fit in at championship level, the lads 29 at league two level. I think thats his level tbh.

A very similar player to Luke Beckett. Beckett would score a bag full with the chances we are creating at the moment. Beckett wouldn't be able to keep up with Cadders and Parker!
