I know some on here wanted him and it's early days but I do think we got the better manager. Last night he just sat there like a spectator, all ive herad him say so far is that his players at Burton worked harder and trained better!!

Thats why they are in the conference,and Derby are in Div.2 {or the Championship,as it is laughingly called}

I never really fancied Clough. Despite his decent job at Burton, I still thought he'd be getting the job due to who is Dad was. I doubt if an unknown had got a club up a couple of leagues to the top of the conference in 10 years he'd have attracted much interest.
You've got a guy there who was more than happy to work part time in a low pressure job for years, without really pushing himself. Compared to Clark who's obviosly got massive drive and passion, and wants to be the best he can be.
To be honest I wouldn't take any of the names that were talked about over Clark and his team at the moment.

Its a bit early days to say who is better.
Clark and co. for me is a better overrall package and I think we have a manager who will be linked with every higher placed clubs future vacant posts. (Like Cloughy was).

Clark along with (importantly) his other backroom staff was the better package for us no doubt about about it. Clough will probably come good in time but its a big step from non league to Championship. Clarks been involved at a higher level as a player so not so intimidating. Clough's gone from working with part timers who are happy just to be playing every week to some big time Charlies with egos.

He looked out of his depth. Bit of a sentimental appointment by Derby, but they need need to stick with him in the long term and see how he does

Just shows how lucky we are that the Pearson bid fell through in the end. I really wanted Pearson, and he'd have definitely been an improvement on Davy. But I'm so glad we ended up with Hoyle in the end.

If and buts. But don't you thing Nigel Clough still looks about 18? He won't in 6 months though.

i wanted lcough when jacko went and after every manager thats left since (i never though we would ever have a management team like weve got now)
Cloughs got a tough job at derby and wish him all the luck in the world wether he will be a success or not time will tell but i wouldnt bet against it!

I`d say Clough was involved at a higher level as a player than Clark,you don`t get much higher than playing for your country.
