It is reported that "Little" Joe Harper is preparing his autobiography. Presumably his career at Town will constitute a "blip". We had great hopes when he signed but he fell flat here, and to a lesser extent at Everton, but had great success in Scotland.

There was a bizarre rumour around that the reason he got kicked out of Town was because he was stealing money out of the changing rooms while players were training. I wonder if he will cover that "alleged" episode in his autobiography which will sell, what, 20 copies ?? Maybe 25 now I've done some free advertizing for him ;D ;D
Mind you, back then there were rumours that Frank Worthington was bonking more than one woman, so who knows what to make of all that silly gossip ;D ;D Stuff is much more accurate now we have message boards, right?

I was recently in Inverness and saw this book in Waterstones so had a quick look at it "to say that I hated every minute of my time at Huddersfield would be a total understatement" is a direct quote from the book. He goes on to call Fartown and his digs there the biggest sh**hole he,s ever come across. He also describes how he came to loathe the late Ian Greaves because of his training methods and his refusal to allow him to return to Scotland to attend his Grandads funeral. All in all very little good to say about us, but then again who gives a t*ss about him.

His overall goalscoring record was fantastic. Oh for a striker who could score that number of goals now. To say he was wee was a complete understatement. I have a vivid memory of him running into excellent positions but the wingers putting crosses way over his head during his days at Leeds Road. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

It used to be said that he would leave the pub after most of the fans had set off for the match. Not that he was a boozer or anything like that.

What's wrong with Fartown? I know it's a bit rough around the edges but bloody hell, did he move there from Beverly Hills?

All the speculation about signings on here for the last few days - I remember when Harper came no one had ever heard of him or knew anything about him - he was a major let down; 5'6" tall centre forward with a significant beer belly.... All signings are a gamble (even the mighty Sir Alex has got a couple of blunders on his c.v. ) so my fingers are firmly crossed that we don't get another like "little Joe" UTT
