Should we let him go?
My heart strongly says no - he is committed, with an engine on him. I have always thought with the right coaching he could be an amazing box to box player. He bursts through many a time but his finishing is very poor.
But on the other hand - we signed quality today, and it has already been said we need to get people out to bring people in. As Lee Clark keeps saying, this is a journey and on any journey I suppose you lose people along the way.
Thoughts anyone?

Sad to say it but he needs to start a fresh somewhere else, a bit like Danny did imo. He was an excellent servant of us but no end product.

I'd keep him as decent cover for Goodwin - but if it's regular 1st team action he's after then maybe it's time for him to move on?!

I think we've got Berrett that can play in the same role Goodwin does should we lose him to suspension/injury. Think it's time to go Jon

how is someone who cant pass the ball good cover for goodwin? If we're being picky then he can't tackle either but he is Town through & through! ;D P.s.: The less said about his shooting, the better... I'm not arguing my corner very well here am I?

Ill be sorry to see him go, i admire his passion, his commitment, his drive and determination.......BUT.......for the sake of his own career its time for him to move on and id say sooner rather than later. Out of sight, out of mind and all that.
Any other Div 3/Div 4 team will truly benefit from him.

An on-form Worthington isn't a bad player. There's plenty of clubs who would have him in their first team! All I was suggesting was to keep him as cover for Goodwin. I posted earlier today saying how we haven't missed him at all this season but that's not to say he can't do a job for us when called upon in the future!

I'd keep him unless we get an amazing offer or he wants to go. If we could shift Kamara, Unsworth and Flynn (good player, but we've got better), then I'd be happy.

He's basically a box-to-box midfielder who:
a) can't tackle properly (without picking up lots of pointless yellow cards) b) can't shoot
That's all there is to it. All his 'commitment' and 'effort' is simply heat and light to distract folk from the fact he is a very limited footballer.

Come on Slapps. All this thread needs is for you to tell everyone how Worthington's worth £300k.

Worthy gives 100% for town but is not good enough at this level,he would be a good League 2 player and would do a good job for Jacko at Lincoln.
