Cadermarteri and Williams have played well lately in my opinion (really well in Cads case and I would probably have been a big critic of Williams in the past).
What a wonderful situation that we have newly signed players who will be champing at the bit to get a game. Perhaps this is the start of a squad system by the management and back room guys?
Too often in recent seasons we have suffered by bringing in back up that is too inexperienced/too weak.

Only problem is that we don't play anywhere near enough games for those who aren't in the first team to keep match sharp. It's not like Premier League where they have the early rounds of European championships, national games, early rounds of the League / FA Cup and a decent reserves league so that even when players are 'rotated' under a squad rotation policy, they are still getting a less intense run out, but a decent run out all the same, week in week out.
I hope Clarke keeps up these behind closed door friendlies, cos if we do get some injuries and people need to step in, we need 'em to be SSSSSharp!

The club is being set up in the same mould as a premier league club, with the management structure and squad.
Going through each position, we are getting close to having two quality players for each slot, where the fans would be happy enough with whoever plays. There can't be many teams in this league that can claim that.
Good times.

We play more league games, potentially more cup games with whatever the hell they call the Windscreens/van trophy now and it is only the top echelons of the prem that get into europe. They get into the FA cup at round three as well. My point was more to get competition for places from some other quarter than the academy and having a really strong squad will pay back over a full season.

cads is playing well but he is also playing for a new contract!! Ah, the old 'Simon Baldry Trick' - only thing is that he has played more than one good game this season

From what I heard today from someone who knows him, Williams will either have to sort himself out or leave the club. Lee Clark will not stand for his off-field behavior! I'll say no more, because above all I'm only interested in his on-field play but trust me, he'd better watch out! AceT

Shame we left them all in the early rounds this year, tho!! Take your point. Squad looks strong, but mainly in a few areas.
