Easily replaceable, and not deserving of the arm band in my opinion - he's not a natural leader on the pitch. I'd be surprised if Clark thinks he's stood out enough to be deserving of a new contract.
He had a good season last year, but he's looked very ordinary this season, showing hardly any of the attacking side of his game and not really improving the poor part of his game, that being defending.

IMO Andy is a true professional and gives 110% each game... but sometimes that aint the be all and end all. It's been 5 seasons since Jacko blooded him into the first team now and he's probably not upped his game as much as he or we would like. I wouldn't say get rid AT ALL... we would need a better replacment for starters!

dont think he should be captain myself but he would be one of the first names on my teamsheet, always 100% ,our best rb and can cover midfield,or the wing.

Hate to say it but am starting to think he needs a move!! Has been an excellent servant for several years now, but just dont think he has pushed on as he should have and i think he might need a change of scenery to reignite his career. Thought he was one of our poorer players yesterday and he has had a mediocre season compared with previous ones for me - it may be a blip and he could well go on and have an impressive end to the season but i feel he will go in the next week rather than wait until the end of the season when we will get nothing!

Be interesting to see who would come in for him. Would any championship clubs want him??

Goodwin would make a good captain.he would lead by example---through blood and guts performances in midfield.

Hes a proper pro and % committed to Town unlike a couple of strikers (well 1 in particular!)
Given the coaches we have now he will only get better - lets have some loyalty - worthy/t Clarke might not be good enough for the step up but Holdsworth/Collins and Nat Clarke are with the roght guidance.

Thought there were plenty of players who were worse than Holdsworth during our lousy last 35 minutes yesterday. Butler, Goodwin, Smithies,Williams, Collins,Parker ,Jevons, cads. They all let their heads drop and stated making basic mistakes. Holdsworths a good captain because he has the club in his veins and whilst he might not be the most vocal he is the model professional and plays to a high level of consistancy that few others can match. He might never have what you would call an outstanding game, but he also never has a poor one either. He sets the bench mark of whats required. Goodwin wouldn't be my choice if it wasn't AH. You need someone who can rally the troops when their under the cosh. Goodwin tends to turn invisible. Don't think we have an obvious skipper , but Holdsworth is as good as a choice as we have.

Hes gonna make fouls in the centre of the pitch, most defensive minded central midfielders will do. Collins doesn't make hardly any fouls because he hardly ever tackles anyone. Goodwin is there to get about them and break up there attacks, he is gonna give freekicks away. Plus the freekicks he gave away were not exactly on the edge of our area. I think its more the fault of Butler, Clarke and Smithies that we couldn't defend those freekicks when all those balls were just punts in to our box.

Strange this - I thought holdworth was our player of the season last year and made as many assists in league 1 as gareth barry and stevie gerrard did in the premiership - he made more goals than anybody else in league 1. He won every award going at the club! He was tremendous and I still insist that he is our best all round midfielder at the club.
Went backwards after being shoved to right back under turnip and lost his confidence going forwards. Thought he's grown back into that position now and started to get on the ball more and push on.
Still think with two attacking wingers, he could be the best option overall (i.e. both home and away) alongside a goodwin. He won't score the goals a collins, craney will but he will offer more shape, more terrier like qualities and get on the ball an awful lot more to allow the wingers to push on more. Useful away from home more than home perhaps. But with so many cm's, he's still a good right back.
But should he stay? Of course he should. He's been our most consistent player for a good few years now, playing well week in week out - 7 out of ten more weeks than not. Need a few of those in your team.
I'm not in this you need a ranter and raver as your captain school of thought. There are different ways to lead. Gerrard leads liverpool on, barry leads by example in a calm manner, terry leads by putting his body on the line.
Holdsworth has been captain since we have been on this excellent run with 8 wins in 13 and 26 points or so from 13. Should he not get any credit!?!?!
Imo its matured him as a player - he's one of the few that look to get the rest in shape/concentrating when we've scored. He's still developing, a year or two away from entering his peak period as a player. He needs to get forwards more, he needs to improve his tackling but his positioing has improved defensively. Add to that, his comfort on the ball, his vision, abaility to use both feet, decent cross, good engine, and work ethic and we should be keeping players like that. He's professional, a fans favourite and someone for the academy lads to look upto, to aspire to be.

Did you go on Saturday? Goodwin got booked with the most brain dead shoulder block I've seen in a while, he wasn't even in the same post code as the ball. Not ideal for your midfield enforcer to get a needless yellow after 5 mintues! Goodwin deserves the shirt, but Holdsworth has been consistently good for about 5 years now, whereas Goodwin has been good for Town for about 5 weeks! That's why IMO Holdsworth should stay captain and lets leave Goodwin to concentrate on maintaining his high performance and not slipping back into the player he was in Aug/ Sep/ Oct

Him and super Gary Roberts no matter when on the pitch look to bring the ball down on the deck and play on the floor, that is a real asset in a league 1 or championship team. Who would you have a right back instead of Andy Holdsworth?
