Since the turn of the century, these have been the minimum amount of points required to reach the play-offs:
2007/08 = 76 2006/07 = 75 2005/06 = 71 2004/05 = 71 2003/04 = 73 2002/03 = 81 2001/02 = 78 2000/01 = 75

I reckon at least 75 which is quite a tall order - 35pts from 19 games! That said, it remains in our own hands - we still have leeds, millwall, posh at home and have to go to mk dons, stockport and tranmere. Realistically we need to win at least 3 if not 4 of those games to catch up. We must go on a good run now - we have yeovil, posh, hartlepool, brizzle and leeds in the next 3 weeks - 10pts def needed!!!

Last year it was 76
At this stage of the season 6th place had 44 points. Now Mllwall have 47 points so
that makes it 79 points needed
Interesting though that at this stage last season Warsaw were in 4th place with 45 points but Warsaw fell away and were replaced eventually by Sarfend that were in 9th place at this stage with only 37 points at this stage with +1 goal diff ..... mmmmmm

I think it could be interesting given the points difference in the bottom half, there are no clear losers. Still only 12/13 points from bottom to middle.
We have a big squad and in the last 10 games, that could be crucial.

We will get either 83 or 84 points, and go up in 2nd place.
KEEP THE FAITH.

The curent top 6 have been very highly scoring, taking points from lower teams on a regular basis. 78-80 probably required which I think is sadly just a bit too much for us, barring an absolute collapse from maybe either Scunthorpe or Oldham. We just had too much ground to catch up after the Ternant months. Could be a great season next time with a few good signings in the summer though.

I reckon it'll be higher than average, there's some good teams in the division this year. But I'm optimistic about 2009

I think we’ll need > 75; we should aim for two points per game from now on: 78.

We need to sort our goal difference out as i believe that will be a factor!

I reckon we'll need 80 pts. So that's 12 wins, 4 draws and 3 defeats. Still need that 25-goal front man to do it, though. 3 pts is a must tonight and then cannot afford defeat against Peterborough on Saturday.

Whatever else happens the play offs will be one helluva bonus... (trashing Leeds at Wembly in the play-off finals will be nice too...)

Indeed, SNOW. Play-offs would be one helluva bonus. Don't think anybody seriously thought we'd be in contention 3 months ago. Don't know what it is, but I've got this sneaking fancy we'll be seeing Leeds in the play-off final.

Realistically,as previously posted,Its not altogether in our hands,Its also down to the teams above,at least 2 nedd to be in freefall and us to be on a run, then its possible..Fingers crossed!

It is in our own hands. We can get 97 points and I’m willing to bet you my house that that will be enough for at least the play-offs this season.
