If DH is prepared to spend another 3/4 million on a striker, then I am a bit worried that we are getting in a bit deep monywise. The last thing we need is money problems, and I for one would accept another season down here before panic buying and sh*t or bust tactics. Lambert , imo, is not worth 750 thousand. If we got turned down by Carlisle for Graham at 250,000, then I would rather go back to them with a bigger offer for HIM than buy Lambert. Just an opinion, but there comes a time when we become the Chelsea of div 3 and I dont want that!

Dean doesn't seem like a guy that would jeopardize the future of his club for short term success.

When Deano became involved he made 2 separate pots of cash available.
Pot 1) was for transfer/signing on fees
Pot 2) was for wages
Ternent didn't spend much of Pot 1 but spent almost all of Pot 2.
Clark is spending more of Pot 1, and consequently Pot 2 is probably in the red!!
I would think that's one reason, apart from the fact that we have too many players nowhere near being involved (Unsworth must be 5th choice left back now!), that a player or players will be leaving before next Monday.
I don't worry about us spending some cash. Rest assured that Deano won't let us go over budget.

I don't really understand why you're worried, its Hoyles money to spend, and his club to balance the books. Just as it was with Davy. This "we've made a loss last year" stuff is just for the media really, the reality is we are being bank rolled by Hoyle, you're right we can't afford on gate receipts to be buying players, but as long as Hoyle is willing to support us it means nothing. Obviously if he is loaning us the money and then he goes bust that would be a worry but he seems to have his head screwed on and a genuine desire not to saddle the club with undue debt.

Dean doesn't seem like a guy that would jeopardize the future of his club for short term success. I agree.....just that I thought of it in this senario; Town were once playing away at Torquay and I had the money to go....then my 'mates' decided it was to be a weekend job and I borrowed the extra to go with 'em......Took me 3 weeks to pay my sister back and I went without beer for three weeks!!!!!! Probably not the same as DH spending 2 million, but its all relative (and MY relative wasnt happy when it took me 3 weeks to pay her back!) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think we have to trust Deano, its not surprising we'll have some reservations after what happened with Rubery, but he comes across as somebody who knows exactly what he's doing.

I think they have checked whether administration is looming before making such alleged bids.
Noone said anything when we apparently bid £1m for Gallagher!

You don't get to Mr. Hoyle's position business wise by being reckless with money. I'm confident that although a huge fan of the club, he will run the club with the same business head as he does with the Card Factory.

Personally I’m with malvern on this. I get nervous when it looks like we’re overextending ourselves; I wouldn’t like to be in the position of having to get promotion.

Dean Hoyle has already publically said he expects to lose money owning Town.
He's hardly the first fan done good to have that mentality ... Jack Hayward (Woves), Jack Walker (Blackburn), Steve Gibson (Boro), Dave Whelan (Wigan), John Hall (Newcastle) - nice company for Deano to be in considering all five of those took there sides to the Premiership!
He's not daft, he's a massive fan and also an astute businessman. I'm totally confident in him and I'm sure he'll leave Town in a better position than he inherited it in!

Bottom Line. As a few have said, Dean aint no fool. He hasn't got where he's got to without speculating. Hence the term...."you've got to speculate to accumulate". You also have a daily interest rate on 'Pot 1' which will have accumulated since DH bank rolled. NC is an astute accountant, that knows the money system more inside out than most of us know our own arseholes. He's trusted LC to do the job to create HTAFC a success story.......and it will happen within the next 5 seasons. They'll have an objective to get into the Championship which increases revenues and eventually Premiership that results in a £60m pay day.
For of those of you who have concerns.........forget them.......there's nothing to be concerned about.
It's not even entered my head, because of my own business knowledge, that's is just how it works and how the pro's make it work. Success and continued financial stability is imminent & guaranteed at HTAFC. Full stop.

........I also forgot to mention that Davy is matching 50/50 every purchase with Deano before DH becomes Chairman. Bascially - free cash. Now call me old fashioned if you want, but if there's cash on the table to use before it expires......y'gonna use it. Obviously Davy will benefiting from his investments when we get into Premiership.......and that's business.

We are the only football club in the Country with financial stability. I bow to your business knowledge. Lets go in for Kaka!!!!! G'night all.

Plus, anyway the books will be balanced out when/if Smithies departs. In addition, player(s) could leave during this transfer window or in the summer.
Nothing to worry about financially. In my opinion, Dean Hoyle, will not see us go down the slippery slope.

Its not just Dean though, theirs Nigel aswell. Dean actually said that he appointed Nigel because Dean would get carried away with spending but Nigel would keep it rational. Nigels been involved with rescueing clubs from liquidation so he will know what to do before it gets to that stage.

I'm on the understanding that KD is matching the purchases until DH officially becomes Chairman - hence his eagerness to take advantage reet now. It's all abit laughable really - Huddersfield have cash and are spending..........in my 30 years support have I never seen this!!!!!! Good times. ;-)
