should Booth retire at end of the season. With Dean backing Lee Clarke i suspect we can get another striker but he will never truely be replaced . I don't see him playing next season sorry. Past it He is a legend and legends can't be replaced easily.

ariel coach ? if we got dickinson then booty could work with him and teach him the gift and let him have afew games with the reserves and if town have any leauge 2 or 1 teams in the cup let him have a run i dnt think alot off people see what booth actually does i no hes a terrrible runner but hes 1000% htfc and he give is all n cads has been wippin sum balls that would have suited andy but if clark has it in his mind to let him go i think andy deserves a couple more games even just as a sub so he gets all the chants and all the claps the shiny headed legend deserves !!

i think should retire to be a coach our strikers could learn a thing or two. It can only benifit our current strikers

Let's just wait and see how he is when he fully returns for us. For the last few years people have been queuing up to write him off everytime he gets injured.
Yes, he is coming to the end of his career but he still had enough in him to make 42 appearances last season and as was mentioned in another thread has scored as many as Jevons and Parker this season despite being injured for the majority of it.
I'm sure when he reaches match fitness again he will remind us all what we have missed so much this season.

He should retire now, or at least announce he will be doing in May. How anyone can't think he's finished is beyond me. I know he's come back before and proved a few wrong but the time to call it a day has surely come.
I'll no doubt be proved wrong about this statement in a few weeks ;D

The only problem with that is he is not very articulate is he? Anyway it's down to Lee Clark and his team to promote the club isn't it

He should retire at the end of season because if he carries on it won't do himself or the club any good, the only threat he has is in the air and we know that players jumping up for the ball will get pushed and pulled, his knees and back are knackered, and ultimately we have better players and will get better players. He's said all the time he doesn't want to manage or coach but Clark is wanting a link between the academy and the first team, I thunk that would be ideal for him.

I have posted this so many times already i'm boring myself.
Boothy IS retiring at the end of the season. His decision is already made.
His last game for us WILL be this season.
Yet the threads keep popping up.

The old warrior has one more season in him left yet. Maybe as a sub, but there's life left in those wobbly knees.

And there's only one way that could happen, as Town don't let him play for them

I reckon it is likely he will retire at the end of the season
But if he gets / stays fit from now until then, and is amongst the goals, then he might just earn himself a new contract
Hopefully the latter will happen....!

I think if Boothy had wanted to he has had ample time over the last few years to do some coaching during his lay-offs. The fact that he hasn't suggests that he is either not cut out for it, or doesn't fancy it. It might sound harsh, but I don't think he really has a job at the club any more unless he does something on a voluntary basis. We will have enough difficulty paying Lucketti's wages without having to pay for another has-been. Great guy and a legend in his own time, but time to call it a day IMO before he ends up a permanent cripple.

Depends what happens regarding signing any new strikers.
Getting rid of Boothy when all we have is Jevons and Parker ( the leagues most prolific strike pairing - NOT ! ) would be foolhardy.
Every time he gets written off he comes back to torment the toughest of League 1's Central Defenders.
I still think he is the best in this league in the air and that had he been fit he would be in double figures with the service from Cads and Robbo.
Sure he is no long term solution but don't be too quick to get rid of him.

Spot on neilb, even now no matter if he starts or comes off the bench, the sight of boothy lumbering towards you is like an instant laxative

If he could stay fit then hes easily good enough to play on......but these injuries are becoming more frequent and lasting a lot longer now!?
Whenever it happens it will be a sad day when the legend Mr (9 iron) Booth hangs his boots up!!!
