So, with Ainsworth, Pilkington, Werling, Novak, Tehoue, and hopefully Jutkiewicz snapped up, surely Clark has some welcome squad selection headaches. What do you think our starting 11 (and bench) will look like. This is quite tricky.
Ainsworth and Pilkington are good enough for our starting 11. But Cads and Roberts are extremley competent wingers, so surely these 4 will make the squad, no doubt?
With Goodwin and Collings seemingly having the centre-mid positions locked down at the moment, and Craney looking the strongest cover, where will the extra room be made to accomodate the new signings in the matchday squad?
Here are my predictions: Williams will be dropped. He has improved of late, but is no where near good enough for a promotion chasing team, not at current. Sat right near the front on Saturday, and in the 2nd half, there were numerous occasions where he let the ball bounce and drop to a Peterborough player because of his indecision. Notable was one moment where it resulted in a throw and he walked towards the sideline miming swear words and shaking his head (presumably at himself?) Surely Werling will become temporary first-choice if fit?
If Tom Clark is on the bench as defensive cover, and two of the aforementioned midfielders, and Glennon as sub-keeper, surely it will be one of the current strikers to drop out of the squad completley? I hope so, especially at first. I want each of our new signings to feature and there is no reason why the front two merit a place in the first 11.
Give me your predictions for the starting 11.

I thougt that went without saying.
I'm talking about the two strikers (hoping of course we have this Everton loanee in).
The more I think about it the more I struggle.

I tell you what, if we do start with Cadders and Tehou up front, those big opposition centre-backs will know they're in a fight against us (for once)
I'm remembering how Goodison at Tranmere was constantly flicking our lightweight forwards out of the way all match.

Hmm ... difficult ... It would be nice to play all of our four fantastic wingers, but this would probably mean dropping Collins. Jutkiewicz is definitely a player who will have to show us what he can do from the bench, at first. Once fit and having worked his way in, Tehoue's definitely worth a place, going on what I've seen. We need someone who gives opposition defences something to think about ... The player I'd drop with the least concern out of the ones generally listed in the first eleven - is Holdsworth, but there are no suitable replacements, it doesn't free up room to house our new players. If I was pushed ... I'd opt for ... Smithies/Glennon Holdsworth, Clarke, Butler, Williams Cads/Pilks, Goodwin, Collins, Roberts Tehoue, Pilks/Cads Bench ... Smithies/Glennon, Werling, Craney, Ainsworth, Jutkiewicz But another part of me wants to drop Collins ... move Pilks in to his place and play Ainsy out wide! This is all Lee Clark's fault - signing all these great attacking players. Clark out!

Perhaps....
--------------------------------Smithies------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Holdsworth-------------Clarke------------Butler--------Werling --------------------------------Goodwin------------------------- Ainsworth--------------------------------------------------Roberts -------------------------Collins------------Pilkington-------------- --------------------------------Lés Beast-------------------------
Although I think he'll play 442 and poss push Pilks up top.

I think to accomodate new signings Lee Clark et al. may change formation to a 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation. My prediction of team would be:
Smithies
Holdsworth, Clarke, Butler, Williams (due to form)/Werling
Pilkington, Goodwin, Roberts
Cademateri, Tehoue, Ainsworth
Subs: Williams/Werling Berrett, Collins, Jevons, Lutkiewicz
Bit of an ambition starting 11 and formation but tried to accomodate new signings (which are undoubtedly going to be favoured to current squad, otherwise LC wouldn't have brought them in). Oh LC has tough choices, some players will be disappointed by being on bench, but will have great impact when coming on.

In the same way Werling didn't start his 1st game I highly doubt Tehoue will either.
Smithies
Holdsworth...clarke...Butler...Williams or werling
Pilkington...Collins...Goodwin...Ainsorth
Roberts...Cadamateri
Subs Glennon Clarke T Berrett Jevons Werling/Williams

You're all coming at it from the wrong angle, what if we are to play 433 again and in home games only go with one holding midfielder (goodwin). For example:
Smithies
Holdworth Butler Clarke Werling -------------Goodwin-----------------
---------Pilkington Roberts---------
Cads-------Tehoue-------Ainsworth
That would be a statement of intention to set up like that in home games
