Raining and no snow at all at this side of the country. With the forecast of ice and tricky conditions tonight it does seem a bit dodgy but i think the news and weather have got very little news to talk about and they've sensationalized the weather a bit. Keeping an eye out for a postponement and booked a dental appointment for around 4 p.m ... So i'll be watching this thread with fingers crossed.

Also its supposed to be sunny for rest of day and no more snow so hopefully it will go ahead ;D There would be more chance of the game going ahead if it was to rain all day rather than be sunny. The sun wont be warm enough to melt the snow so by tonight (if they dont clear it off the roads and pavements) it will be all icy and a death trap to walk on

sadly sunny doesnt neccesarily mean warmer-still not convinced it'll go ahead, they have to think about what it could be like tonight as well

yup, would have to agree there chris,i'd imagine some still may not be able to actually get to the game, and some may not fancy risking it n spendin a couple of hours being frozen solid

pitch will prob be ok whatever, but we've postponed for Health & Safety before, due to amount of steps to be treated That will be the deciding factor I think

Does anyone know what the m62 is like - I live in donny.............. M62 is clear. There was a reporter from The B.B.C's "Breakfast" programme in Huddersfield this morning. She said the M62 was fine and most main roads have been successfully cleared but, other than the motorway, all roads linking West Yorkshire & (W)lancashire are impassable! I reckon the game will go ahead, but the crowd number will almost certainly be effected. I'm predicting a 10'000 crowd tonight.

Well the under soil heating has been on since saturday. So the club will have knonw about the snow to come and hopefully treated steps etc in the ground. Leeds road and the m62 and m1 all look good its prolly minor roads and paths that would be problem. Am confident it will go ahead tho

Will they have been able to train - would Storthes Hall be clear? Or will it have been indoor training? If they ever do that?

In todays PC, Health and Safety conscious and over cautious world I would expect the match to be called off but we'll see.
Would expect decision to be made by 12-1pm......

seen this on the WYMetro site (it doesnt seem to be a specific area of hudds but anyway)
'Sheet ice on the roads in the Huddersfield area is bringing traffic to a standstill.'

Major routes into Huddersfield from Wakefield end open. Penistone Road and Wakefield road, however they're still dicey at best. It's all the secondary routes that are the problems. I haven't been able to get out for the last 2 days, which like SN0W says it's getting TO the major routes that's the problem for some of us.

just spoken to other half who set off from Golcar at 8:30ish and got to work at bottom end of town at 11am. She has been told busses are only using main roads, Manchester Rd, New Hey Rd and Leeds rd etc and not going into outlying villages as it is all single track traffic.
They say if the snow ploughs went into the villages they would follow - but whos seen a snow plough??
