If the game were to go ahead tonight my team would be. 4-4-2 GK: Smithies RB: Holdsworth LB: Williams (Assuming Werling is still not match fit) CB: N. Clarke CB: Butler RM: Ainsworth LM: Pilkington CM: Collins CM: Goodwin ST: Parker ST: Cademateri Bench: 1: Glennon 2: Werling 3: T.Clarke 4: Craney 5: Whoever Turns up first with a pair of Boots, You can have Jevons Shirt Edit: Havn't heard anything official about this lad from Everton, So doesn't feature for me. Another Edit: Seeing as Tehoue can't play, Stick Parker in instead.

Would you really drop Williams if Werling was fit? That would be so harsh and would send out the wrong message to the players in my opinion. He's in his best form since joining Town and to drop him now would be a right kick in the gonads for him when its least required. Surely its up to Robbie to maintain the shirt and for Werling to await his chance to step in.

I'd be surprised if there were any changes to the 16 tonight from Saturday - let's be honest, Clark has not exactly been one to make wholesale changes after we lose, never mind win!
The only change that might happen is Lukas for Parker on the bench, if his paperwork is in order & sorted in time.

Surely its up to Robbie to maintain the shirt and for Werling to await his chance to step in. Williams has improved his form of late, but our last 3 results are LLW. In the second half against Peterborough he was poor, indecisive, luckily nothing materialised from it. Werling was brought on further up the field to steady the team in midfield. Yet I can remember at least two crunching tackles at our own conrner flag which got the crowd going, surely that is Williams territory. Personally I'd put Panzer in. I'm not here to nurture and massage players, I want the best for the team and I honestly think we would be stronger with Panzer in from the start.

I'd bring Werling in left back.
I'd have Ainsy/Pilks/Cads all in, Clark's choice of which one would partner a striker or play just behind. And if the Everton lad is in I'd throw him in for Jevons.
So:
-------------------------------------SMITHIES----------------------------------- HOLDSWORTH----------CLARKE-----------BUTLER -------------WERLING
AINSWORTH------------COLLINS-----------GOODWIN---------PILKS
-----------------------------CADS
-----------------------------------------------LUKAS
Bench: Glennon Clarke Jevons/Parker Craney Williams

To be fair to Williams, the tackles Werling was putting in weren't against Williams' man, they were against the advanced full back, so it may have been his zone but not his man. And I agree with Pompey, if the lad is playing well (which he is) then you can't drop him, even for someone as terrifying in the tackle as Werling!

i think we should scrap the crap with 4-4-2 and possibly play 3-5-2
Smithies Clarke Berrett Butler Holdsworth Williams! Goodwin Craney Collins, just behind Pilkington Cadds
i just dont think ainsworth has enough right now to be a threat when we dont have a goal scorer in the box.
subs: glen parker jevons werling clarke

I don't understand why people are dropping Jevons for Parker!
Tell me how Parker can contribute more than Jevons.

IMO neither contribute that much.
I guess people would rather have the injection of pace coming off the bench last 15.

I thought he dropped off quite well on Saturday, involved in some nice passing moves (and he won a header!). Still not much of a goal threat though but he contributes a lot more than Parker's incesant running offside and falling over.

Not exactly a choice you want to be making either way! (FWIW - I actually think Jevons has the potential to be a great player, if he was up front with the right kind of player... Just not happening for him. The less said about Parker, the better)

Id be putting Parker in because everytime Jevons touched the ball on Saturday he lost it. Oh really. Take a look at the goal & see if he lost it then. I cant understand why Jevons gets all this stick. 2 goals in his last 5 games shows he coming into form. His career stats tell us he always scores goals. He just needs the right player with him - perhaps that will be one of the loans. Then we get everybody clamoring for Cads to start up front in place of him - the same Cads who has scored 3 goals in 38 games for Town!

My team for tonight for wnybody who cares (nobody ): Smithies Holdworth N. Clarke Butler Williams (but if he messes up at all tonight, Werling vs Bristol Rovers) Ainsworth Goodwin Collins Pilkington Cadamarteri Jevons (seeing as though none of the 3 new strikers will be able to play). Subs: Werling, T. Clarke, Berrett, Craney, Parker Werling coming on (around 60-65mins) to give him a run out (unless Williams is bossing the field... so Werling to come on then ) Parker on for Jevons in second half if Jevons is not offering him only real asset - linking up the play. If we are winning, Berrett on for Collins in about 65-70 mins to keep us in possession as much as possible, not that Collins gives it away a lot, Berrett would read the game and offer a bit more defensive support.

Cads didn't score nor shoot but he held the ball up, caused havoc for the Peterborough defence, who couldn't cope with him, chased every ball, won many headers, provided the goal, got numerous crosses into the box and got MOTM for his efforts too.
The sort of presence we need at the top end of the field at the moment until the Beast can play!

it doesnt matter where Cads plays wide or upfront as he`s a nuisance to defenders, where as parker is a nuisance to the linesman

Oh Really........erm......YES Cads may not have a great scoring record, But he puts the effort in, Jevons just stands there picking his arse. Im a fat lazy git and I would put more effort in than that thing.

Cads did that lovely little flick that the keeper managed to get to.... that was on target and would have been excellent had it come off
