Smithies was good today but Andy Butler was absolutely immense! His desire to be first to the ball was fantastic and he won pretty much everything against that dirty Gippo! Butlers getting better and better as the season goes on for me and although we seem to hang on a bit too much these days we are becoming harder and harder to break down.
On another note the referee and linesmen were a complete joke, they gave them bloody every decision they could so it was a great effort to defeat 14 men!
Come on Town!!!

Yep
Williams and holdsworth both played well too, especially first half. Both strong in defence and showed good skill to carry the ball out of defence

The officials were shoite as usual, gave most if not all decision L**ds way.
Anyway, credit to Butler for being a rock in the defence with Smithies palming owt that came his way away.

Agreed, Butler must have been very close to man of the match. We should have been singing ' one - nil and it's our keepers fault' at the end tho

i thought williams had an excellent game, and if he keeps playing like this i cant see Werling getting in the team at all.

Thought the ref did well today, far better than last season when he reffed us at home to Leeds, kept his cards in his pocket when he cud of booked players and just told them to think about it, couple of dodgy decisions but how many refs get 100% decisions right. Butler was very good indeed, although not sure about becoming harder to break down, thort we were pretty easy to brerak down from about 50 minutes until about the 85th minute.

Totally agree about Butler. I know Smithies made 4 great saves but Butler was still my MOM. He won everything he went for and was in total control. Him and Nathan are striking an awesome partnership.
Onwards and upwards.

Butler was my MOM too. Thought him and Clarke together had a terriffic game.

Couldn't agree more.....Butler immense....officials shocking. How many times do you see a ref over rule a linesman when he is further away. On another note I thought Goodwin did a great job also.

All bsck 4 played very well.
Holdsworth - If anyone still thinks his heart isn't in it, I give in. Lively, neat going forwards, defended well, a number of balls in the air today and he did well.
Williams - Like holdsworth, made his first few challenges telling, getting to the ball first. Cuaght out once or twice but solid again.
Clarke - Won his battles, good goal. Calm and mature - looking like the defender we hoped he could be. Lost his man once but overall, very good
Butler - As above, defended very well, no frills, no spills. Won more than a mjority in the air. No mistakes I can recall.

Smithies, Butler and Clarke, won't go far wrong with those three at the moment. Different class.

Butler must be well on the way to being most improved player since start of the season if not there already. Looks leaner, fitter, more commited.

Back 5 were immense today. Thought Butler may have edged the MOM award but thought Smithies and Clarke were fantastic today. Smithies made some great saves. I know we were under the cosh in the 2nd half but for me his best save was the one from the corner in the 1st half-carbon copy of our GOAL(caps cos I enjoyed it so much except our keeper had the reactions to block it. Butler is probably still stood in front of the leeds bus trying to stop it getting anywhere near the keeper and I think I last saw Nathan stood laughing over Becchio on some Leeds dancefloor. Becchio = The firking gyppo ponce.
