If he goes anywhere it will be to Spurs, talking to a guy other day who does scouting and coaching at the academy for town, and supposedly Spurs offered him an improved contract after we did the other day

If Rangers won the 'race' for him - would it still go to a tribunal or is there different rules for other countries clubs signing young players on ? On a more positive note,if he dies go to a premier club it should make our academy more attractive to other prospects as that would be two players who have moved to the premiership from us in recent times- showing that our players are being watched and it is another route there, rather than being stuck in the juniors/reserves/out on loan at a premier club direct

Was playing for Sunderland when Spurs payed a million quid for him and hes been on laon at tranmere i believe. Finally made his debut V Burnley 2 years after he singed for them! If i was Alex i'd stay here to get more first team games under my belt. I feel it may hinge on us making the play-offs!

We wouldn't get a penny if he went to rangers, be a repeat of the Chris Porter situation at Oldham.

If he wants to progress his career then Town is by far the best option, if he wants a pay cheque and a way of getting girls then he can go to the greed.

If he does go, what would peoples views on him coming back on loan? To me that would show the move was pointless and he just wanted the money! Either sign a new contract or go enjoy the rest of your playing days else where and thank for the game last weekend.

Love him to stay but in reality if you were offered a chance to join a premiership team on a shed load of money wouldn't you jump at it? What happens if he stays at town has a poor season or is god forbid badly injured and the chance of a big move is gone. Good luck to the lad whatever he decides, as long as we don't have to rely on lead boots Glennon if Smithies leaves.

I'd much rather be playing first team football for a club that I supported than be playing in the 3rd or 4th team for some Greedy League club that I didn't give a toss about.

he has to think about whats best long term for himself thinking about all situations.
if he starts next season a town player and has a seriously inury causing him to miss the next yr plus eg Tom Clarke who has never really got back into the team since injury 2 years ago then he will always regret the decision not to leave and earn more money and play at a higher level, football is a short career (admitedly longer for goalies).
Who says he is leaving to sit in the reserves, with the belief that Steve Black is instilling in players he should have it in his head that he will go to a premier team, make a good impression and get played then eventually the England call up will beckon.
If he leaves i wont blame the lad for showing the ambition of wanting to do things now rather than waiting a few years by which time anything could have happened!
