if we can afford to take him on which im guessing we can as he wants to get back into football i think its a very good signing! he will help the players like novak and broadbent with their games. very good player, just hope he doesn't lose his head again

but the problem is this.. what happens when we give him a three month contract? He comes into the side, bangs in 10 goals in the last 3 months, then every man and his dog are looking to sign him on a free in the summer. Would it not make sense to take a bit of time, make sure he is up to it, and offer him a 15 month contract when we are pretty certain he can do a job for us?
Town do not have a particularly good track record when it comes to trialists. To name a few.. we've signed Hodotou, Unsworthand and Gallen, and released Sodje (akpo).

Since the news about Matt Jansen training at Town surfaced I've been trying to contact a mate who knows him very very well. They're old school mates from Carlisle and they keep in touch regularly. My mate is touring with an unmentionable Leeds based band at the moment so he's probably out of the country but I'll keep trying to see if he knows owt.
I've been told previously that Matt still loves football but he found playing at the highest level difficult after his traumatic accident. Apparently he didn't just suffer physically from his scooter accident to really affected him psychologically too. It seems he's tried to resurrect his career on several occasions but it's not 'happened' to date. However, he must still have a skill and ability; you never lose things like that do you? So if 'Blackie' can work his magic we could have rediscovered a little gem.
Here's hoping! ;D

We take an option to extend; just like we’ve done with Dom and are hoping to do with Téhoué.

He bangs in 10 goals?
Might be enough to see us promoted - then he can go if someone bigger comes in
Job done on both counts! ;D

If Lee thinks that he can do a job for us, then why not offer him week to week terms and just see what happens. We are short of goal scorers and he is certainly that. With Tahoue stuck in fifa and contract limbo land, he might just fill a bit of a gap. It may work out, it may not do, but if he is a bit fragile mentally, then week to week terms may suit him and us better than even a short term contract.
