Think it will be the same side as last saturday as it doesn't look like Tehoue will be signing anytime soon. I think going on what has been said tonight there is a good chance Jansen will be snapped up on a short term deal and could potentially be a shock starter on saturday or on the bench. When someone like Jansen or Tehoue does sign, i've not got a clue who will be dropped. It will have to be one of Roberts, Pilkington or Ainsworth.
Wouldn't want to see Ainsworth dropped purely because of his pace and it gives defenders something to think about. Roberts is Roberts and can change a game in an instant. Pilkington looks to be a mixture of the two with a bit of pace and good skills. Difficult decision for Clark and he could even drop Collins and put Roberts in to his position...who knows.

Something tells me this squad is getting a bit too large. If we’re serious about a play-off challenge a large squad is an asset.

" Difficult decision for Clark and he could even drop Collins and put Roberts in to his position...who knows.[/quote]" Well Aaron, your suggestion may not be the most popular on here, but I can see some sense to it. Collins remains, much like Schofield, frustrating to me. You just know he has class, and who can argue with the goals he has scored, and yet right in front of your face most weeks, he seems somehow to not be producing FOR 90 MINUTES that which you know he is capable of. So, yeah, it would not be for me a silly thought to put Roberts in to Collins position/role. You know he will produce for 90 minutes in the main. But does he contribute other aspects as well as Collins ?? Dunno! Very tough one this. Can only say I am glad Clark is the one having to make the decisions. To much for my old head to take.

Difficult decision for Clark and he could even drop Collins and put Roberts in to his position...who knows. IMHO, Collins had one of his best games of the season on Saturday - did a great job on keeping Delph quiet enough, put in a lot of effort and running. I'm not his biggest fan (he goes missing at times), but dropping him to play Roberts in midfield away from home? No chance. We're being turned over away from home too easily - if anything we need more steel in midfield, not less. If anything, I'd be tempted to put Craney in for Ainsworth, put Lukas up top on his own and push Pilks / Roberts on down the flanks, with more cover available with 3 in the middle of the park... However, I'd be surprised if the first XI was any different to Saturday (if it ain't broke etc)!

If Collins did produce for the full 90 minutes. He simply would not be playing for us. Roberts has no real idea how to defend, he may make the odd tackle but his positioning would be so bad our midfield would be over run. Collins is the fittest player at the squad and his off ball work rate is barely noticed. Plus his forward runs are so beautifully timed it's a joy to watch. Roberts doesn't have IMO this ability, he's more of give the ball to me and watch me go player i.e. a winger. I thought Roberts was our weak link in the first half against Leeds he looked a little lost although he did have some good moments. I still can't believe people are still wanting Collins to be dropped. It's beyond me , it really is!

Surely Boothy is worth a place on the bench?

I did not say I wanted him dropped, simply that I can see there are some valid questions and options (not to mention opinions) and that Collins is not a footballing god that should have a guaranteed place regardless.

It isnt a question of anyone being "dropped"
If you look at our last 4 away games - we have taken one point from them.
Which if we want to make a move for the playoffs - needs to be reversed this Saturday
So if i were LC, i would be thinking about changing things round in order to get the three points.
Not sure what i would do though - think it will probably be the same team and formation as against Leeds. But if he changes it it wouldnt surprise me.
