Sounds like a full scale war is brewing. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Further to a statement on Huddersfield Town's website regarding last weekend's game and the claim that we have asked for "Huddersfield's help to pay (our) bills" Leeds United have issued the following statement... The regulations of the Football League provide for Leeds United to make a claim against Huddersfield Town for travelling expenses as a result of the amended kick-off time (12 noon). If Huddersfield do not feel that the early kick-off time necessitates an overnight stay - it is for the travelling club to decide if that is how it wishes to prepare - they can appeal to the Football League. Huddersfield have appealed and the Football League will decide, but it would be presumptuous for them (Huddersfield) to claim that the Football League are "wholly supportive" of Huddersfield when they are yet to make a decision. In the event that the Football League agree with Huddersfield we will abide by their decision and will draw our own conclusions as to why. The process will be dealt with by the Football League and we will pass no further comment on the matter so as not to prejudice the outcome until a decision is made. However, it is worth noting that we believe the public release of this dispute by Huddersfield (without any notification to ourselves in advance) is designed to gain favour among their supporters - but we now feel it is important that the public are made aware of the following... 1. Huddersfield Town paid Leeds United the sum of £1000 as compensation following the game at Elland Road in November 2008 for using LUTV's footage of the game without prior permission and, against Football League regulations, illegally copying it for sale to their fans. Leeds United chose to deal with the matter privately between the clubs, not involve the Football League, and not make the matter public. 2. We have received a number of complaints from our own fans about the conduct of the PA announcer at Huddersfield last weekend, but we chose not to take this into the public domain (until now) because even though we had legitimate concerns over his conduct, we didn't want it to be interpreted as sour grapes following our 1-0 defeat. 3. Huddersfield Town chose not to grant admission to LUTV (one camera) to film the match last weekend unless we paid £5000. Huddersfield are the only club in the Football League to have made this demand - this is hardly consistent with the spirit of the game - and we were informed of their demand less than 24 hours before the kick-off. Again, we said nothing publicly and alternative arrangements were made. For the record, our claim for travelling expenses is £1100. www.leedsunited.com/page/LatestNewsDetail/0,,10273~1564254,00.html
