He was excellent today and caused us all sorts of problems. And the finish for the second was brilliant. I think he'd be worth a closer look as a possible replacement for Boothy.

Agreed was a cracking finish for the second but he shouldn't have had the chance to do it.

Believe it or not we were about to sign Tom Pope after the Crewe game at home, but then Stan got sacked and the deal fell through!

Tom Pope is proof that Tom Denton and Lee Novak could come good. Crewe signed Pope from Biddulph in the lower leagues at least 2 and a half seasons ago and he is starting to come good, everybody just needs to be patient whilst they develop into full-time pro's.

There's a significant difference between Denton and the other two. Both the other two have scored stacks of goals in non-league. Denton was awful when I saw him play for Wakefield.
