With games running out and the Tehoue situation dragging on for weeks now why are we not looking elsewhere for a loan? Other clubs are signing loan players again now why don't we get somebody with experience in until the end of teh season?

i have a feeling that we are hammering every opportunity to bring people in to strengthen the areas the management feel needs attention.i also have a feeling that this will be on going throughout their tenure.its the most determined of any regime i ve seen at the club.its just not everything gets in to the public domain and rightly so.

If we can get Jansen anywhere near to his ability from years ago he'd be a hell of a signing. Not really a short term fix though.

If he plays tomorrow then that's another game under his belt as he looks for match fitness. Boothy has hardly played any warm up's and he is now on the bench. MJ is what we are looking for!

My point really was that Clark is obvously still scouring the market for players(and probably not just strikers) but he won't declare his interest in public all the time as this may alert other teams. Some people just assume that because they haven't made it public they are not looking. Also, the fact we have Jansen with us at the moment is evidence we are looking.

Mentally fit Jansen and Physically fit Booth/Cads = goals goals goals Chances of this happening - 25/1

The thing is, we haven't had a fully fit squad where we've had Pilks, Ainsworth, Cads, Roberts, Boothy, Yooks fit at the same time. Not saying they would all play at the same time but it is affecting our chances to score goals.

Not sure how you can say Jansen is the answer short and long term - he hasnt played a first team game for years!
It reminds me a bit of Carlisle signing Bridges - he was quality at Sunderland and Leeds, isnt that old - but is nowhere near the player he was.
Hopefully Jansen will get fit, sort his head out and get us some goals - i would say the chances of all that happening are slim at best.

i have to say we do need a striker that will score goals, however looking at the stats we have only failed to score in 6 of 32 games, which says to me we have goals somewhere we just need to defend a hell of alot better.
come january clark should be looking for a right back, a new young strong tall fast centre back, a 20 goal a season striker(wouldnt mind lambert) and a goalkeeper.
IMO of course, but im always wrong and we should buy another 10 midfielders

It reminds me a bit of Carlisle signing Bridges - he was quality at Sunderland and Leeds I think im right in saying Carlisle picked him up on the cheap after suffering bad injuries at Leeds. Leeds were looking to offload as he was regarded as an expnesive luxury and had badly lost form, and Leeds were looking to cut costs. Subsequently he was pivotal for Carlisle in thier rise from the Conference and thier back to back promotions which is why Hull then paid over 300k for him.

Bridges is at Carlisle now?
Dont think he is that old (probably younger or the same as Jansen) and he is nothing like the player he was.
Remember him scoring a quality hatrick for Leeds away at Southampton in the Premiership
Personally i dont reckon Jansen will play a game for us, let alone be the short and long term solution to our striking problems.
He hasnt started a game/ scored a goal for years - he isnt suddenly gonna come back and blast us to promotion...!
